The Animals of the Goddess

The Animals of the Goddess

Hugs from a distance dear reader, here a new post for you, this post was entirely written, edited, corrected and registered in May 2015 for my first book "Wicca! Love & Soul: Teachings and Experiences About Love, Life, and White Magic", unfortunately, it did not give the final cut for the book due Because this already had a lot of material (more than necessary to be published), so I have chosen to share it with you, but perhaps it will be included in another book later.

Multiple animals are linked to the Mother Goddess (the feminine side of nature) and many others are linked to the King God (the masculine side of nature). Below I will briefly mention some of these, either for their cultural association with the moon or by their relevance in pagan culture and Wiccan mythology.

In sorcery and magic, it is a good omen to carry with you a silver talisman with the figure or drawing of any animal of the goddess, in this way you will receive the guidance and care of the forest spirits if necessary.

The spider

One of nature's most eccentric creatures, as mysterious as it is beautiful, and as feared as it is insightful. The spider is associated with the occult arts, old age, mystery, and the occult, they represent the balance in nature and serve as minor messengers of the spirits of nature, they are in a way, the messengers of the messengers.

The Owl.

Not only has he been linked to the goddess Athena since the mythological Age, but Owls also represents wisdom, intelligence, calm and vigil. The owl represents fear of the dark and the unknown, however seeing an owl is considered a good omen, a message from the night that tells you to "go home and take refuge in it."

The dolphin

It is one of the most intelligent creatures in the animal world, they have an outstanding intelligence and also instinct, they are messengers of the waters and they are not as docile as they seem, they represent that wild side of the sea that is willing to be domesticated through affection and good understanding. Dolphins are associated with the spirits of the sea and act as messengers for them, hearing the sound of a dolphin at night means that the Goddess is riding on the waves.

Rabbit

The rabbit is linked to Easter and other religious traditions, both Abrahamic and pagan. The intelligence of the rabbit is always underestimated, it is one of the most respected creatures in Asian culture, to the point of having been elevated to the status of a zodiac sign in the Chinese horoscope.

Remember that an amulet with the drawing or the shape of a rabbit attracts awareness and ingenuity to solve all kinds of situations.

The Toad or the Frog

It has been revered since ancient Egypt as a sacred creature, symbolizing fertility and associated with femininity, ingenuity, and maternal care. They have a strong influence on folklore, in Europe, it is said that toads attract rain, while in South America they are associated with the fertility of women, and also with the appearance of diseases, for the Egyptians they represented the renewal and The reincarnation.

The hummingbird

It is one of the most exotic and elegant flying creatures that exist, as an animal totem they are perhaps the most difficult spirits to invoke, and this many shamans and sorcerers know. They are considered noble spirits of nature that take this form to protect the natural passages, it is said that where the hummingbird goes, the oldest fairies are gathered.

It is not only associated with mysticism and intuition, but also with communication and femininity.

The snake

This creature is under the protection of both, both the mother Goddess and the king God is a messenger from the underworld and the spirit world. Their skin is one of the essential implements in sorcery and witchcraft, they are associated with renewal, mystery, the oldest secrets and everything that is unknown.

In Amazonia (the Amazon), the venom of snakes is widely used to carry out the preparation of "Uwajiwa", a magical herbal ointment that is sprayed on trees to ward off evil spirits, and the oil that is extracted from their skin has healing properties, its bones are used for divination and its eyes to curse, protect and heal.

Bear

It is linked to the mother goddess in her role as the moon goddess, they are guardians of the forest and the balance that lives within it, they live in perfect harmony with all the spirits of nature for whom they are highly respected, they are the messengers among the moon goddesses and the spirits that inhabit the forests. In the shamanic tradition, they are considered the guardians of sacred wisdom and the incarnation of the old shamans of each tribe.

The cat

Perhaps there is no other animal as associated with witches as cats, but they are also highly respected in ancient Egyptian folklore where they were associated with Bast, the cat-headed goddess. They represent wisdom about what is hidden, mystery and mysticism. They live between worlds, they are fully aware of all the events that occur in their environment, they act as guardians between our world and the world of the spirits, nothing is hidden from their eyes and they are also faithful guardians of the homes of the witches.

The Fox

Just like the toad, the fox is also associated with the moon and the rain, American folklore tells that the fox is a shapeshifter, they are not easy to tame and it is easier to hear than see them. Foxes are highly respected in Native American culture as well as shamanic myths.

It is said that when a fox crosses the path of a small child, it is because this child is one of their own that has been born among humans, and it will only be a matter of time for the child to grow up and look for his herd.

The wolf

The wolf has a special mention in this category.

The wolf is one of the creatures associated with the moon for centuries, either for its nocturnal song or for its typical iconography (the wolf and the moon), however, the wolf is one of the solar animals, an animal under the protection and guide of the god consort, the son and faithful companion of the goddess. The wolf is one of the few nocturnal animals of the king God and is also his messenger, the wolves howl at the moon to sing to him at night what the sun cannot tell him directly.

Blessings & Light to all.

Goddess Hecate

That Goddess Hecate,
before and after the
Queen Mother of all the Witches.

In a world of gods and social media,
who makes the most noise is the King... Or the Queen?

I have nothing, absolutely nothing against Hecate as a divinity worshiped by thousands (I begin to believe that thanks to social networks, perhaps millions), but as I am popular for saying what I think, and for writing it too, although they may be opinions Unpopular, I have no fear in writing something that many are thinking but refuse to share for fear of being almost exiled permanently from the metaphysical community.

Hecate, she's the bad girl in the class.

It is popular among men and women, its ambiguity, its triple character (and all of them quite dark in turn), its immense titles (which apparently has much more now than in ancient Greece itself), especially (and I repeat) this triple character as a dark goddess, lunar and infernal goddess, is clearly the bad girl in the classroom that everyone wants to be friends with, but yes, many forget that the bad girl in the class is not always as evil as she seems, and often ends up being another girl who doesn't feel pretty enough to be part of the cheerleading club, or smart enough to join the chess club, she feels ashamed, enough to refuse to enter the comedy club or of singing, and simply prefer to put on makeup, be the bulling of the school, and popularize among (obviously) the least popular, minorities, and all those who for one reason or another have felt discriminated against by society, you Does this sound familiar?

Yes, the description fits like a ring to the finger, and I have absolutely nothing against the goddess, quite the contrary, it is one of the deities that my favoritism has, perhaps it is because I began to adore her from a very young age when I read about her for the first time in an esoteric magazine in my native Venezuela (Ronda Magazine, March edition 1999), so after a while, it is natural that I don't think it's “the fashion wave”, I think that in a certain way I understood it after working so much with it, and with some coven of "Wiccan inspiration", so growing and learning more, it simply became a divine source in my little and very eclectic pantheon.

The Hecate of my youth

The first time I read about Hecate in that magazine, they mention her as “the Greek goddess of sorcery and the arcane, queen of the night and the witches”, accompanied by a couple of illustrations of her sculptures, and an extensive article on the popularity of this legendary goddess in the growing groups of modern witches of a city (by then entirely unknown to me) of San Francisco in the USA.

After having read the article a couple of times, so as a couple of rituals that accompanied him (one to get back at a lover and another to protect the home), I was quick to find information about Hecate in encyclopedias and dictionaries, I remember having memorized that Pope's illustrated dictionary said "Hecate: Greek goddess of sorcery, triple character, lunar, marine and infernal", while only vaguely mentioned in a couple of books of 'White Magic' and 'Wicca' of those that Mama keeps in her personal library next to the kitchen.

An encyclopedic book of Greek myths, gods and monsters, claimed that she was a wild goddess of Egyptian origin who would later have been worshiped by the Greeks and that her cult would have been transformed into something increasingly large. On the other hand, a couple of family members (Andres and Mary), both historians who had lived several years in Greece, seeing my fascination about the subject when I asked them about it, they only told me:

“The truth is, she had a cult in its time, but it was not as big as the books claim, it would have one or another temple, but at that time people were more focused on worshiping the gods of grain and commerce, or of vegetation and war, because they were subjects from day to day, homosexuality was not persecuted, rather it was quite acceptable, so a goddess like her would not really be revered by any minority who felt despised, and the priestesses more revered the cult of Aphrodite, Hera or Hestia, who they had more to do with the society of that time, if you compare it with the new times, Hecate was the equivalent to some local Santa of some church, if, of course, with many attributes, but in those times of war, where civilization was booming, it would not be as relevant, more than for some travelers who prayed at the crossroads to prevent danger, although most of these travelers were merchants, and they chose to pray to Hermes (god of travelers and commerce) or Athena (which had several temples and statues at the entrances of the most important cities).”

After that explanation I will not deny that I felt somewhat disappointed, although he insisted on keeping a couple of drawings that I made of her next to my altar (Gods! If that altar spoke! What would I not say?), This experience, or a very similar one it was repeated years later when I managed to read Hesiod's "Theogony", and the 1985 book written by Burkert, W. "Greek religion: archaic and classical", because while most of the magic and sorcery books of the moment insist in making Hecate looks like a kind of 'Saint patron of the mystical arts and sorcery, indomitable queen of the night and mother of all witches, and owner of dozens of attributes', the books of Greek history and paleontology, especially those written by well-qualified Greek authors and academics, they deny most of these attributes and explain it in quite interesting ways.

But it was my professor of 'psychology of marketing', Jonathan Alejandro Goncalves, during my third semester of marketing and advertising at the University, who once asked me about it for the realization of an essay (maybe later I tell you how this discussion arose because it is a much longer story), and finally, he concluded that the cult of Hecate was growing "at all mysterious" at this time and that it was something of common sense very easy to understand, she represented minorities, these minorities that for the Greeks were not important, minorities that today are news daily thanks to newspapers and social networks, but at that time, she was just one goddess outside the twelve Olympians, and today, many teenagers who feel "Out of place" or "not socially accepted" identify with it.

My conclusion in writing in that essay on ‘the evolution of marketing around certain religious figures’ was:

"While all other female deities represented the goods and pleasures idealized by Greek society, Aphrodite symbolizes love and beauty, femininity and acceptance of carnal pleasures, Athena symbolizes wisdom, the firmness of civilization, philosophy, understanding, and reasoning, Hera represented the complete and complete woman, lover, wife, and mother, also a queen of the heavens, and Vesta symbolized that wise, discreet, virginal woman who took care of the home and society, Hecate was On the contrary, it was not even Greek, it was a foreign deity that was passing through, a goddess who crossed the deserts and represented all that which the Greeks feared, such as contempt and social disrepute.

Hecate was a goddess who hid in the night, her temples had no signs with directions (unlike everyone else), her sacrifices were important, but they never became more important than those of Bacchus, the god of wine, or Ares, the god of war, his temples do not even have a decent decoration, only women who did not marry and were not virgins (so they could not be vestal virgins) will seek worship in it, as they were outside the socially accepted stereotype in the time, they were like Hecate, a minority woman to whom other gods refused to invite the festivities, she was not married, nor had children, but worse, unlike Athena, Vesta and Artemis, there was no great myth behind her virginity, she simply had no lovers, any poet could add that her lover was the night, or that she did not find pleasure in men, but for Greek society, where sensuality was as relevant as the art and philosophy, this would not be seen as something healthy, and it is quite strange coming from such an extravagant figure. ”

If you analyze it carefully, it represented not only the immigrant who arrives to conquer others with his hypnotic talents but also, was a sorceress, which would not be well seen by the priests and priestesses of other better-known deities, however, they existed a couple of myths that sought to enhance her divine image, such as the fact that she had taken care of Zeus in a cave when she was a child hiding from her father, and in that tradition where she is the mother of the witches Medea and Circe.

After this, Hecate served as a character in several heroic tales of the time, always represented as goddess of sorcery, from the middle ages she is seen as "mother of all the great witches and magicians", especially in several versions of 'The Arthurian cycle', and in much more recent stories, takes the role of Echidna as the mother of many myth monsters, which, far from raising its divine status, rather helps to create greater confusion around the character.

An immortal Sorceress
that we all worship in a certain way.

However, Hecate has this hypnotic power over all of us who read about it, its name carries a huge almost inspiring appeal, and its image is linked to the greatest (and also some of the most important) books of magic and sorcery. In some books she is portrayed as the queen of all witches and wizards, in others, she is a dark goddess of sorcery and magic, in a certain book about transformations she is the main divinity, while in Wicca, it is she who mostly embodies the triple lunar goddess whom witches worship.

Wicca, neo-paganism, some 1899 book entitled "Aradia or The Gospel of the Witches", and its name is mentioned in virtually all television series about witches, wizards, and sorcerers, including the mythical 'Charmed' with Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowen, where in one episode they introduce us to 'Hecate, a female demon who plays the role of queen of the underworld', have made our dark goddess a difficult character to ignore in today's metaphysical society.

Hecate now

The Hecate of now is perhaps much more complex and eclectic than the original, Hecate is seen as the Goddess-mother and queen of all the witches, the Immaculate Sorceress, goddess of the dogs and all the creatures of dark fur, the lady of the crows, goddess of cemeteries and crossroads, queen and lady of the night and all her creatures, goddess of keys and doors, as well as of all paths, mother of all seers and psychics, queen of ghosts, and Of course, goddess of magic, divination, and sorcery, obviously not forgetting, lunar goddess, and for some modern cults, the goddess who protects the seas during the night.

In the Wicca it is practically an offense not to meet Hecate, it is almost always the first to be mentioned, you can find entire books full of quite idealized information about her. At one point they make me think… “Is that nobody else works in Olympus ???”, but the truth is that it is interesting how our society has changed positively to such an extent, that one that was once an almost irrelevant goddess for many, not even becoming included in the Olympic gods, where (let's be honest at heart) until Bacchus who was a god of wine and the holidays had a chair, Vesta, the goddess of home and architecture, had a chair, Hera, the goddess of marriage, had a chair, Hermes, the messenger of all the gods, had a chair, literally the UPS service of Olympus had a chair !! And Hecate no!

But now times have changed, minorities have begun to unite with each other, and have formed a huge social group of different ethnicities where now, being part of some minority is practically a fad.

The original Hecate

The original Hecate was represented as a simple goddess, sitting on a throne and wearing a crown of flowers on her head, it was thus represented before, and until two centuries after the invasion of the Persians to Greece, contemporary with the myth of the Titanomaquia, where apparently Hecate herself was present providing assistance to the Olympic gods according to some versions such as Hesiod and Pausanias.

It was not until the end of the 5th century BC. C, when Hecate began to be represented as a triple goddess by (the truth very few) artists and sculptors of the time, mostly holding in his hands a torch, a snake or a key, but always maintaining a warm and thoughtful expression in his face, and many times maintaining her crown of flowers, alluding to her minor role as a goddess of nature or a queen of the woods.

The larger animals were dedicated in sacrifice to other seemingly more important Gods, as well as the libations of milk and honey, while to Hecate, the owners of some establishments left pieces of meat at the crossroads to gain their protection (which enhances its dark and almost demonic aspect), or they sacrificed dogs, which was next to the donkey one of the few animals that were forbidden to serve in the banquets and sacrifices of the greater gods, for these being an offense to the presence of Vesta and Ares, Because of this, Hecate simply receives the remains of meat from banquets and dogs that were too old to be useful in the home.

However, despite all the above, in the myth of Jason and the Argonauts, this hero offers Hecate a libation of honey at night with blood from the throat of a sheep, performs this ritual by a river dressed entirely in a black robe under the guidance of the sorceress and priestess Medea.

The chthonic symbolism of the previous ritual speaks for itself, representing not only a goddess before the best-known Greek civilization but also a sacred ritual to venerate the first gods since man lived in the caves.

In Thrace, around the 5th century, B.C. Hecate was considered a goddess of borders, boundaries, roads, and thresholds, later she would also be revered as a goddess of childbirth and the upbringing of young people, in large part because her priests were eunuchs who must be trained in this labor class It only took two centuries after this to reach the title as "patron" of the city of Estratonicea (now Eskihisar, Turkey) and have a temple in Laguna, where the annual festivities, although they were not the largest if they attracted people from other cities.

The Goddess of Hesiod

It was the Greek poet, Hesiod, who raised Hecate's status to a point where other philosophers and speakers of the time are debated.

Hesiod seemed to be a great devotee of the goddess, whom she revered without hesitation, filled her entire poetry and stories with references to the enormous power of the goddess, and in response to the 'seemingly unknown greatness of the goddess', which only he seemed to know, this was limited to proclaiming that its power “will come as a gift from and a superior origin ”, referring to the fact that Zeus would have given him divinity, absolute control over all the powers of other gods, being the only one capable of filling humanity with all kinds of gifts.

An increasingly uncertain origin

Hesiod turned Hecate into a goddess of the night and a night walk, a queen of the woods and a sorceress, but it was also the same, who under divine inspiration, affirmed the origin of Hecate, making her the daughter of Asteria, the goddess of stars, which would make her be the sister of Leto (the light of day), aunt of Apollo (the sun) and Artemis (the moon), granddaughter of Febe (primal goddess of the moon).

Another later version of this story states that Hecate was a mortal priestess of the goddess Artemis, and her name was Iphigenia, Iphigenia offends the goddess with insults after being requested in sacrifice by Zeus, and being tired of sacrificing outsiders in the temple by order of the goddess, because of this falls into madness and commits suicide. Before the horrendous spectacle, Artemis, wanting not to repeat what Athena did when turning the body raped by Poseidon of her priestess Medusa, into a horrifying beast, the lunar goddess decorates the body of Iphigenia with flowers and jewels and whispers in her ear looking for the elevation of his spirit, then Iphigenia wakes up in the Elysian fields turned into a goddess, then going to be called Hecate, an avenging goddess of wounded women.

An alternative version that explains its origin as a pre-Olympic chthonic goddess, affirms that she is a titan (a primal divinity before the “gods”), daughter of Perses and Asteria, being a powerful helper and protector of the human race whom she always favors. It was the only titan who helped Zeus during the Titanomaquia, which is why she was not banished to the domains of the Underworld after the defeat of the Titans by the Olympic gods.

A more modern myth and after the invasion of Rome, tells us that it would be a virgin priestess who had stolen her mother's carmine pot, immediately fled to a house where a woman was in labor, and helped her to have the baby. Zeus as punishment for leaving the temple and committing a robbery then sent her to the kingdom of Hades to be purified for her actions, once there Hecate enjoyed great authority, as she was known as the queen of the underworld until the arrival of Persephone as a wife of Hades.

From the latter, the Greeks adopted the custom of placing "totems" of Hecate on roads, gates, and roads, because she did not allow ghosts to pass beyond the threshold, the Greeks prayed to this figure as " the queen of ghosts ”and“ goddess of darkness ”, a role she has maintained until our times.

Queen of the witches.

I suppose it is the role that has been won thanks to the efforts of his faithful devotees who have promoted his image throughout the world, Hecate is present on the altars of hundreds of witchcraft and magic practitioners in every corner of the planet, thus becoming one of the most unconditional deities of the pagan pantheon, and one of the most emblematic most divine figures in the society of witches and wizards.

Those old modern pagan festivities

Those old modern festivities

Samhain, Mabon, Yule, and Lughnasadh, are probably the only festivities of the old cult that I personally practice, and clearly not in that order.

Although the pagan cult is full of festivities that celebrate stellar events as well as the cycles of cultivation, and these, in turn, represent or embody some old myths of the Indo-European world, the counter of pagan festivals and celebrations reaches a total that exceeds the 200 annual festivities, at least 25 of them belong to the Viking festivities and another 10 to the Celtic festivities, of which only 8 seem to have remained to this day.

The theme of pagan festivities is like a small cauldron burning in the middle of a forest in the middle of the night, all pagans, 'polytheists', Wiccans and others, see it shines from afar with a different perspective, they all have their own opinion in this regard and everyone has their own vision of the subject. Trying to have a conversation about any of these festivities with at least 5 or 6 people can often (not always) end up in a big discussion, because if something has damaged the pagan community in the last decade, it is the excessive use of social networks, which under the pretext of "uniting people" have done an admirable job in promoting quite mediocre ideas and in many cases, empowering people with misconceptions to believe that they are right under rather absurd pretexts.

If at the end of the '90s, we all adjust to what the book said, and the arguments were discussed respectfully in every sabbat (face to face), now with blogs and social networks, many of us feel (and obviously I include myself) In this wave of "If I have a blog and write on it, it is clearly because I am right", and many times it is not so, many times social networks just end up empowering and magnifying the noise that someone causes regardless of the practical study or the years of experience, although in my years as a blogger I have perceived many times “this post that I made is quite uplifted”, or “maybe here they are very offensive and I must accommodate it”, also in my years as a blogger I have read countless posts written by people who cite as an only source an article in Wikipedia, and based on it they are considered the "owners of the absolute truth".

I have read entire articles of about six pages that they end by citing up to nine books by different authors and anthropologists, which in many cases are coincidentally the same articles that you can find as quotes to a similar post in Wikipedia, and yes, this happens unfortunately more often than many imagine, because I personally have distanced myself from reading other blogs and I have dedicated myself to reading more books by the most diverse authors before consulting with Wikipedia, that is the vague way of all, the easy and unpretentious way of someone who does not take Seriously your own work.

The same is the case with pagan holidays and the whole ideology around them, although my idea is not to promote the "next return to obscurantism" or anything similar, if I consider that the fact that now everyone can freely express their opinions, It does not always mean that “everyone” has the most correct opinions or even the clearest intentions in sharing these opinions.

The Wheel of the Year

I have mentioned it on several occasions, enter the Wicca quite young, more out of foolishness than out of curiosity, I did not have the maturity at that time to go into something like this and I think the result was that it ends in some way 'burned' the process, quite overwhelmed and boring of the continuous norms, ranks, hierarchies, differences of opinion with the 'elders', etc ... And still, I love the Wiccan way as it really is, (far above what some want to make it seem), and especially because for many as in my case, the Wicca was a door that led us to the pagan path and to meet our own truth, to hear that call.

In the Wicca eight important festivities are celebrated based practically on the cycles of cultivation, cycles that although thousands of years ago could be the most important for humanity, because winter would end the harvests and hide the trade routes, the summer eradicated the fruits and flowers, both for the nourishment of men and women and for the veneration of the gods on their altars, the arrival of spring not only represented nature emerging again from the earth as everything began to bloom, but also represented for many lands of that time, the arrival of plagues, allergies, and diseases for which man was not prepared, and not to forget the Autumn...

In a world where knowledge of meteorology and the cycles of agriculture were not much studied beyond of the most basic, when seeing the trees and the nature in general to foresee, the plagues of worms and mosquitos seizing the fields due to the accelerated worsening of crops, the intense red tone of the trees (associated with blood, war and death back then), and the arrival of carrion birds in these months, even the bravest of warriors would have easily thought that the dreaded end of the world was approaching, the evil that seized the earth, the souls of Hades seizing the world, the signs and omens that a gigantic snake would emerge to devour the sun and the other worlds.

Today we know that harvest cycles are rather a side effect of the meteorological changes associated with the equinoxes and solstices, and although this makes everything sound very scientific, I am one of those who still think that all these cycles are associated with work of forces greater than us that we are just beginning to understand, as well as the Maya who imagined three thousand years ago a dark god in the center of the milky way devouring the light and everything in its path, and only in full 2018 the scientific community has agreed to admit that our entire galaxy revolves around a black hole.

All this without mentioning that the Wicca is more consistent with an Indo-European cult where the main deities are a hunting god and a lunar goddess to represent the balance, although most of the pagan community strives to insist now on making the Wicca as a kind of "resurgence of the primal matriarchy before the arrival of the patriarchate", to the point that the veneration of the male deity is rather a kind of taboo in modern Wicca.

Samhain and Yule.

I in particular only celebrated four of the festivities, more for a customary theme of many years than for religious obligation, though, my cycles are favorites are Lughnasadh, Samhain and Yule.

Lughnasadh

Lughnasadh, for his representation of the triumph of light over darkness at the cost of the most sacred sacrifice, nothing more motivating in politically dark times like these.

Samhain
Samhain, although I did not celebrate it with such devotion in my country of origin because we have practically no autumn, it reminds me a lot of several indigenous celebrations originating from the beautiful Amazon that my grandmother celebrated, also when arriving in the United States to celebrate 'All hallows eve ', and finally knowing the pumpkins, the motivation clearly increases, and much.

Yule
Yule, let's be honest, except for the Grinch (and I know a couple of these) it is quite difficult not to fall in love with Christmas, yes !, it is a pagan holiday that the church used to turn the pagans, yes !, Santa Claus in red and white is rather a marketing invention of Coca-Cola based on the commercial restructuring of a Polish story based on San Nicola Di Bari, and Yes !, Jesus was not born in December, and if the case we are not born in Bethlehem either less at the time they tell us, with a notable difference of 8 years.

Special Mention: When I was in the third semester of Marketing and Advertising at the College University, I made an entire project based on promoting Yule and the image of the so-called 'Old Pascuero', which is something like the Argentine San Nicolas, and after six months of effort Professor Natalia Buenafuente reproached my project for appearing 'very ambitious'. ‘Cheeky’ and ‘against good Catholic customs’, not to mention that he shouted in front of the entire class ‘that’s not God!’ ... And the rest is history from another story.

Samhain celebrates the final season of the harvest cycle in Celtic culture, and is closely associated with other similar festivals of other pagan cultures around the world, although mostly in Europe, though, thanks to the celebration of 'All Hallows Eve' ( I hear some radical witches screaming in the background), this celebration remains, has remained, and is one of those few festivities that people outside paganism understand, and even many of them respect without much explanation, and it is quite charismatic to see Children dress up as witches and ghosts in the streets asking for candy and forcing their parents to go out with them.

However, today Samhain's celebration has changed a lot, and contrary to what some people think, this is good, it has become rather a double aspect celebration, while some go out to celebrate freedom of expression, dressed in their more sorcerers attires, masks, and brooms, organizing parties to meet with the local witches, others take this date in a slightly calmer way as the time to honor those witches who have left this world and who still remain among us, with a silent vigil, or in my case, with small rituals at home, accompanied by a pretty minimalist altar decoration, wine, cheeses, flowers, incense and plates full of fruits, homemade garlands and a lot, but a lot, a lot of light on the altar, to illuminate his path and his return in a next cycle.

Yule, this holiday is, on the other hand, more discreet, many outsiders to paganism still do not understand it, and their association with Christmas complicates the matter quite a bit, although today Yule is rather a kind of intercultural celebration among old Roman traditions (such as give gifts), some Celtic traditions, and it has a lot to do with some Viking festivities, the fact that all this is celebrated at the same time as something as great as the Catholic Christmas holiday, if it makes it quite complicated for some to feel comfortable to celebrate.

In my native Venezuela, Yule is practically something unknown, it is not mentioned beyond the books on paganism and Wicca, and only some very closed pagan circles celebrate it, Christmas is perhaps one of our biggest festivities along with the carnivals, the Devils of Yare (the closest we have to Halloween) and some festivals of different virgins that we have in the Country.

In addition, the popularity of Conny Méndez, founder of Christian metaphysics (a branch of contemporary metaphysics from the Catholic point of view and using Saint Germain as a central figure in her study), helped popularize and further promote the tradition of 'the night of the Christmas Spirit' and a series of ritual complexes that we perform in Venezuela every December 21 (winter solstice day).

The Christmas spirit is a pagan-Christian celebration that became popular since 1986, you can find many books dedicated to the topic in your local bookstore, but if you want a summary of it, every two years I upload a post to this blog updated the topic, so just be aware that this year touches a new one.

So while the pagan festivities have changed a lot, and now they revolve more around (most of them) the celebration of the dead and all those who have left this world, these are still celebrated, but let's be honest , we will never be able to celebrate them with the same devotion that our ancestors did, for them to celebrate the arrival, birth, death and resurrection of the gods was something extremely important on which their food, the weather, and their life depended, to We these celebrations are rather a way of remembering the past, honoring the ancient celebrants, and a beautiful reason to connect with other believers and practitioners like us.

A Magical Week

Your energy between the full Moon and the Night of the Witches.

Remember that the full moon is a culmination moment, it is important to understand that you have two weeks to finish and close positively all kinds of personal and professional projects, this full moon in Taurus comes to illuminate our life as it illuminates the dark night.

The full moon of October is popularly celebrated as a ritual New Year, and this October 31 will close after an entire week full of small rituals and celebration groups around the world, especially cleansing rituals dedicated to purifying the spaces and environments that they surround us, it is time to detoxify ourselves energetically from all the bad, from all the negative and from all that we are dragging and we want to put aside.

This is a moment of slow processes and deep transformations, it is time to realize projects and ideas that we have half-baked, take into account that the full moon in Taurus moves us to do things slowly and step by step, because calmly we can lend more attention to detail, Tauro reminds us that it is always better to deliver a project well done on time, than to deliver a mediocre and incomplete project ahead of time, it is time to also focus on personal affection, freedom of expression and nutrition. body.

All those processes that we started six months ago with the New Moon in the astrological sign of Taurus should be reanalyzed and reoriented now, because it is its moment of concretion and culmination, remember that the moon in Taurus is focused on nourishing the emotional relationships and the theme of riches, is why the opportunities to increase our prosperity begin to manifest more now than ever during this lunar phase.

This lunation is purifying, it is a moon of cleanliness and organization focused on everything being perfect, the lunar energy channels that seemed blocked are going to be released suddenly to make way for a complex flow of possibilities, this means that the more orderly this your life in each of its aspects, you will have more fluidity, it is never too late to start, the full moon will be marked in the sky this evening, but that gives us an energetic deadline of two weeks to organize and order our agenda, our head and our own energy.

The full moon in Taurus always has a great focus on interpersonal relationships, affective situations and family ties, if you want to make phone calls to relatives and loved ones, this is the time, if you want to resume contact with someone from the past, this is the time, if you want to start new friendships, this is the time, and if you are looking for that best friend, that companion of adventures, this is clearly the best time to undertake a successful search.

Venus Retrograde in Scorpio will make this more complex than necessary.

The Sun, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter, all have something in common, and that is that all of them are aligned in the scorpio sign in these moments, there is a lot of intensity and emotional depth, the feelings feel more touched than usual, It is normal that you can feel more sensitive or more emotional than in previous days, because while on the one hand we have a full moon in Taurus, a sign ruled by Venus that is now Retrograde, and as always, Taurus likes to have, have and say "this is mine and you belong to me", on the other side of the sky we have a Sun in Scorpio, a passionate and dominant sign that whispers in our ears "I love you very much, but you do not serve me so good."

So be very attentive to those emotions and to the attitudes that you can take with other people around you, because by momentary impulses you can end up hurting more than one person.

The issue of finance, savings and economic reorganization.

This full moon comes to move us to safe places and moments, everything is in our favor and to refresh the energy, it will be two weeks of much uncertainty because Tauro insists on moving out of the comfort zone, it is a moment to change and release that that does not work for us, because while you keep holding what hinders you and you insist on dragging, you will not be able to receive or look at everything that is coming for you.

To open new doors you must first move and understand that where you are perhaps not the right place for you, let the Cosmos move you from one place to another and place you exactly where you should be, once there, thank you place, and in a while, you understand why you have arrived there.

The lunar nodes (Karma and the way we feel it) are literally crossing with an Opposition in Uranus that will show our deepest desires, it is summarized words, it is time to ask for what you want and to thank what you have, as the wheel of karma is rolling and releasing everything possible to lighten the load, do not be afraid to ask big, but more importantly, do not forget to thank for all the doors that have been opened before you, and for all the doors and roads that have remained closed in one way or another, because they have kept you away from places and situations that do not deserve or correspond to you.

Moment of cleanliness and harmony

The full moon is a moment of fullness and calm, an instant of celebration, its cleansing energy invites us to open the roads and clear the paths, to break all kinds of emotional and spiritual blocks, that is why this is a wonderful opportunity to dedicate ourselves To clean and purify the house with incense of myrrh, sandalwood, camphor or basil, in the format of your preference, you can make use of solid incense, incense sticks or cone incense.

Prepare a mixture of clean water with essential oils of rosemary, basil or camphor and a teaspoon of sea salt to clean the floor of the house and every corner, a cloth bag full of rosemary hanging from the door will keep distant from people undesirable that come to damage your energy, and glasses with coconut water, in the corner closest to the entrance of the home, will calm the bad vibes that come from the outside.

Cleaning the house with sage is always the best option for many witches and sorcerers, a few twigs and dried leaves of sage tied with a string of red thread (a smudge) burns and moves around the home to attract good energies and detoxify the corners, remember that it is in the corners and under the furniture where the energies (vibrations) stagnate, and the stagnant vibrations end up becoming negative and block the flow of new energies, so it is important to make use of this lunar cycle to purify all environments, the home, the workplace, the study room and especially the corridors.

Do not fear your Power!

This week is charged with much planetary energy, and much of this energy is strengthened by the influx of the full moon, it will be your own inner magic that will manifest itself in your environment causing all kinds of magical operations, that is why this week it is advisable to take five minutes of daily meditation as a minimum, to keep the energies in perfect balance, dedicate ourselves to be grateful every moment and every moment for all the good and positive that we have, as well as for everything favorable for us that is coming, and keep negative thoughts, stress, sadness or anger to the minimum possible.

Many changes (and important calls) can occur during this week, it makes you positively think that all these changes come in your favor, and many of them come to move you out of the comfort zone, so relax and let the Gods of the Universe continue doing your magnificent work around you.

I hope that this week arrives full of prosperous moments and good energies for you and your beloved ones, do not forget to share the post and follow me on your favorite social networks.

Blessings, with Love & Light, Elo.!

Celebrating Mabon, 2018

Celebrating Mabon, 2018

One of the eight festivities that make up the Wheel of the Year of Neopagan culture to celebrate the changing cycles of nature, the progress of the seasons, fertility, life, death and the rebirth of the Gods, is Mabon.

Mabon is a celebration of the autumnal cycle, this festivity is a ritual to give thanks for the fruits that the earth has given us, to value abundance and balance, and it is also a time of work in family and in community preparing the food that will be stored in the hands of humanity to survive the coming winter.

Although the Autumnal Equinox was celebrated by the Celtic cultures, many of them under the name of 'Mabon ap Modron' or 'Mabon fab Modron', bearing the name of a god consort of Welsh origin, it was from the 70's when the renowned Author Aidan Kelly popularized the term "Mabon" as the official name of this holiday around the world.

On the dates when the equinoxes are produced, the day lasts approximately equal to that of the night in all places on Earth, because at this moment the balance of nature now grows in favor of winter and the powers of the Gods find balance on earth.

This is the festival where we thank for the harvests of the year, we are entering the dark half of the year, the father God travels towards the shadows (process that will culminate in Samhain), and we welcome the Mother Goddess, now in her face of Elder wise, is the cycle where God is preparing to die then reborn in Yule (Christmas), while the elderly Goddess will take care of the forests, nature, gardens and all the animals that inhabit it.

This is the time to celebrate the duality of nature, life, and death, as well as the past and the future, it is a time to paint your face black and white symbolizing the balance, dance the sacred dance of life in half of the woods and stay awake in celebration until dawn where we will see the new sun come out.

Magical works in Mabon.

Many Wiccan sorcerers prefer not to hold magical works during this period of transition because these will not receive enough light to take them to action, because the Sun God is dead, and in turn is a period that out of respect remains the mourning of the God who It is in the process of dying. However many other practitioners prefer to make use of this period of change to contact the spiritual plane and the darkest worlds hidden in the night because the God Light has lowered the guard.

This is a good time to collect, consecrate and store different herbs such as sage, roses, cypress, hazel, corn, pumpkins, apple, myrrh, and benzoin.

The colors red, orange, yellow, golden, brown and green are used to channel the spirit of nature and burn incense of cinnamon, myrrh, benzoin, cedar, and honeysuckle to honor the spirits of nature that are passing through in our world and live the mourning of their leading God.

The time has come to honor the ancestors and contact them, work with the world of dreams, carry out long meditations, clean all our magical instruments by passing them through the smoke of sage, honeysuckle and cedar incense.

It is also the magic moment to make the popular doll of wheat ears that symbolizes the presence of the inner goddess and allows to connect with the Goddess of nature and mother earth, many choose to make the doll to capture the spirit of the harvest that jumps out of the last sheaf of cut wheat, while there are also those who prefer to make the wheat doll by candlelight wax and then keep it on a farm so that the next spring cycle will start to grow, symbolizing the regeneration of the power of nature and the incarnation of the Goddess in the mortal world.

I hope we read again very soon.
Sending Blessings and Hugs full of light for all.

Lammas, Lugnasad or Lughnasadh 2017 + Tale

Lammas, Lugnasad or Lughnasadh 2017 + Tale

Lugnasad, also called Lughnasadh or Lammas, is the name given to the time of the harvest, celebrated between the full moon of summer and winter. It reminds us that the sunny days of the summer are coming to an end. It also marks the time to meet friends and family.

Lughnasadh was started by the god Lugh (the long-haired poet, head of the Tuatha De Danann, a people of the goddess Dana, who taught them techniques for plowing, sowing and gathering wheat), as a funeral party and games commemorating His adoptive mother, Tailtiu, who died of exhaustion before clearing the Irish plains for agriculture.

During the reign of Caesar Augustus, the Romans instituted a celebration on August 1 to the emperor's genius at Lyons, a place believed to have been named after the Celtic god Lugh. Curiously, Lyon (lion) is not just a coincidence. In ancient religions, God was seen under two aspects of light and darkness, although in Lammas he was seen as two gods, one god of light and one God of darkness. These two aspects represent the two halves of light and darkness of the year.

At this time the god is losing his strength, for soon he will die. It is a moment of important reflection, as it teaches us the importance of balance in nature and in personal life. In fact, everything that is alive grows, knows decadence and prepares for death, and then reborn, completing a great cycle.

The God is born in Yule, is a boy in Imbolc, passing to adolescence in Ostara, to finish being an adult in Beltane, where it will be united again to the goddess. Litha marks the maximum splendor of the God, from that moment ira losing forces in Lammas and Mabon to finally die in Samhain.

That is why on this Sabbath, we reap the fruits of the seeds we have planted in Ostara, and from them, we will collect the seeds that will wait for the winter to be planted.

In Celtic tradition, Lugnasad is one of the most outstanding celebrations next to Imbolc (February), Beltane (March), and Samhain (October).

Druids saw in the cereal cycle not only the natural germination of a seed, but the reflection of the life cycle: birth, growth/development, and death. Engravings have been found representing straw and cereals in the Celtic necropolis, whose index of significance is both spiritual and material. It was to invoke the spirit of wheat and lure it back into the fields. The mysterious spirit of wheat and plenty were attracted and captured by a straw doll. She had an important symbolic role in the celebration of Lugnasad. "

Today it is difficult for us to understand the importance of the crops in those times since it is normal that we have necessary food, but they depended completely on the food reserves of the previous year. It is in Lugnasad the moment to remember the conservation and the good distribution of the harvest.

Tailtiu, Lugh's nurse and goddess of agriculture

According to the Book of Invasions, Tailtiu was the daughter of the King of Spain and the wife of Eochaid Mac Eirc, High King of Ireland. She survived the invasion of the Tuatha Dé Danann and became the adoptive mother of Lugh.

It is said that Tailtiu died of fatigue after clearing the fields of Ireland for agriculture. Lugh established a harvest and funerary festival (Aachen Tailteann) in his honor, which continued to be held on 1 August as Lugnasad.

Handfasting, the union of hands

For the Irish, Lugnasad was the best time to carry out the Celtic marriage. Its name was the handfasting, or union of hands, and has its origin in an old ritual in which the hands of the contracting parties are sealed thus the contract. There was also another tradition, in which they looked into each other's eyes as they took their right hands and left them forming the symbol of infinity, and surrounding them with a ribbon they were tied in a knot.

The union of hands comes from more Indo-European ancestral symbolism, in which it represents the harmonious union between man and woman since the infinity symbolizes from the antiquity two circles representing the sun (feminine symbol) and the moon (masculine symbol).

The duration of these marriages was one year and one day. At the end of this time, the contracting parties decided whether they wanted to stay together or not. It is the union between two loving beings who freely want to be together and celebrate it in a sacred ritual based on commitment and respect.

As a curiosity, it is said that this ritual of union remained in force in Scotland until 1939, as a public celebration of the union (one year and one day) before the wedding.

A little Tale

Based on many different elements of pagan folklore, I wrote a story long ago called "the grandfather, the mother and the god of light", which was originally published in Spanish as a collaboration on another blog.

To celebrate this year that has been so positive in many ways, I have created a short (very short) version that you can find and read in my Instagram CLICK HERE.

The Goddess Ostara is close.

The Goddess Ostara

The day of Ostara is approaching, the light begins to take over the calendar, the days gradually take up their natural course, suddenly the Sun seems to shine brighter and its light is more and more golden. Millennia ago the east wind and the dawn conceived a beautiful daughter, her daughter came down to our world centuries later, and abandoning all immortality, she decided to walk among men and witches as a humble and powerful queen of forests.

The centuries passed and men honored her with many names, in many eras, in many corners of the world, and finally was consecrated as 'Ostara' the goddess of dawn and the awakening of life, she represents the rebirth of nature and symbolizes the arrival of spring, runs through the old frozen forests that remain under the frozen mantle of winter, with the candor of her spirit seeks to resuscitate the trees and germinate the earth, sowing the seeds that will begin to emerge in its path, and with a majestic lavishness of humility, kneels with a respectful gesture before the oldest trees of the path, thanking them for providing support, food, shade and home to the thousands of creatures that inhabit the thick grove.

It's time to say goodbye to the cold winter, as The Snow Queen bids farewell for a long time, and while her icy coach is displayed in the far smaller and smaller horizon to disappear with one last golden glow at sunset, another coach made of oak wood, with forged gold wheels and adorned with roses and flowers from all over the world, arrives to park where the winter rested, the forest goddess has come to be venerated, and with a humble gesture venerates with her mere presence the very humanity that loves and admires so much.

Spring has come, escorted by Ostara, the goddess who will revive the cold trees and warm the old ways of man, walk without differentiation between fields and cemeteries, between gardens and mountains, and will conceive from her womb the light of the west that has come to adorn our days and illuminate our lives. Spring is more than close, it is here, it is parking in the nearest garden.

Winter leaves man, with its fields of silver frost and heavy snow, the white robes of the snowy forest say goodbye and leave the wet paths for the nature goddess to sow their flowers in them. We will soon receive their divine presence in the delicate scent of tulips and the exquisite golden light that seeps through the branches of the forest. Parks and fields will be dressed in green in honor of the goddess, and flowers emerge in every corner of the earth.

The fairies begin to sneak into our houses, come to play with their typical distractions, hiding the keys and pens, stealing a sock of each pair to make us angry having only an odd amount of them. The gnomes visit the homes bringing along a lot of aromas and colors. Elves and other spirits will reap the earth, from which fruits and flowers emerge without stopping, for Ostara has come with her crown of roses and her dress of leaves, not bothering to hide her femininity and her growing belly always about to give birth. Ostara arrives escorted by nymphs and fauns, while she escorts the spring flood, the old spirits sing their song and the flutes of the fauns are heard sounding all over the fields. Ostara has arrived and this we must celebrate.

During the cold winter, the forest god has perished, as he has done every year since the beginning of human time, god of life and death who walks between the worlds of the living and the dead. When spring arrives the god consort reborn in the forest, to meet the pregnant maiden who waits for her beloved, who embraces her pregnancy and before love is trapped. The God of the sun has returned and the mother goddess again fertilized.

Brief Astrological Guide, The Moon

Brief Astrological Guide Part II

The Moon, the Queen Mother.

The moon has guided and illuminated the dark paths of humanity since ancient times. The moon is the astral body regent of the Cancer Sign, is characterized by several phases of illumination that directly influence the waves, currents, dreams, moods, the character of our pets and especially the female period. Just as the moon seems to fade and to depart far to not return, this influences the people who rule, those born under the astrological sign of Cancer, who never abandon those who want and never separate from what they love, but are experts in maintaining a prudent distance.

The silver mother represents our deepest feelings and emotions, the need for belonging to a place or moment, innocence before that which is unknown, spiritual maturity and power over the occult.

In the Age of Myth it was customary to associate the moon with female deities in the majority, such as Selene, Hecate, Diana, Artemis, Nana Buruku, Yemaya, Selardi, Ataecina, Bendis, Chia, Iah and Dewi Shri. Normally the lunar deities are linked to mysticism, divination, fertility and nature. In fact, the moon is the queen mother of all witches and to whom in the form of Hecate and Aradia taught the mystical art of witchcraft. To help them balance the scale and place it socially on the same level as the man.

* Note: You can find a short list of lunar deities and their main attributes in my book "Wicca! Love & Soul ".

The Moon's Mission in Astrology and Sorcery

To raise the human psyche and strengthen the intuition, clairvoyance and all the medium-mystical senses that connect us with nature and the spiritual plane. To protect witches and sorceresses with her silver light during the nights while celebrating the coven, guiding the spirits on the right path and inspiring the hidden power of the seers and soothsayers.

Tip: A bouquet of white flowers by the window on a crescent moon will fill your days of blessings and give you the tools to remove all obstacles from your path.

Keyword of the moon: Feeling
Day: Monday (Moonday)
Metals: Silver
Colors: White and silver.
Herbs and flowers: Jasmine, violet, sagebrush and verbena (vervain).

First full moon of 2017 #CancerfullMoon

Little by little it's getting closer, day after day it's coming, every night it's shining, full moon 🌚 comes singing.

This Thursday, January 12, we received in our heaven the first full Moon of 2017 a magic moon in Cancer ♋ that comes loaded with good vibes and lots of energy. The full moon is that magical moment of glory, fullness and spiritual extension that leads us to mature, advance and culminate our projects.

This is the first full moon of the year, symbolizes a new stage. January takes its original English name from Janus, the God of the two faces guardian of roads and trails, lord of doors, beginnings and endings, a face looking toward the past and one towards the future, which is why this moon indicates a clear turning point in our lives, announces a new cycle of twelve months to learn and apply learning in previous years, Janus was, along with Mercury, God the protector of travelers and with Apollo, God protector of the oracles. During this month the Sun God is aligned with the sign of Capricorn and the Moon Goddess is aligned with the sign of Cancer.

The Moon's gem of January is traditionally the Garnet and its flower is the Carnation, the recommended colors this month are usually white, black, coffee, blue and silver, the animal totem protecting us this month is the wolf and goat totem. The stones we can bless this month are translucent quartz, jasper, amber and onyx, the plants becoming more powerful these dates are calendula, geranium, chamomile, elder, saffron and marjoram.

January's full moon is right for magic linked to meditation , the development of the senses, energy recharge and emotional motivation, performing rituals to celebrate new beginnings or to set major goals and use magic to get to aid fulfilling them. January full moon it is also known as the cold moon, old moon and the moon after Yule (Christmas).

When the moon is in the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) we can invoke sirens and ondines, water nymphs and habitants of the deep sea. blue in all shades and water green are color of the candles that we use in the ritual space during this moon is and is preferably that have ritual altars for this magic facing west if is possible.

Moon in Cancer is favorable for strengthening the qualities of expression on an artistic level and psychic level. She is a Moon of remarkable healing power, the full Moon in the sign of Cancer is the most suitable to perform magic that strengthens bones and the immune system, the magic to overcome obstacles and prevent threats has great power in this lunation.

During this Moon the imagination and the desire to carry out a project strengthen, let's seize these spirits for spells to help us carry out our dreams and goals, this is also the Moon we pray to for the fruitfulness of a couple, caring relationship from a third party's envy or attend gardens where we grow plants for magical or medical use. This Moon gives special powers to people with scars from birth and those who practice Wiccan faith freely.

The Cancer moon favors fecundity and motherhood, clairvoyance and empathy, love for the occult and fascination for the spiritual. It also makes us susceptible to sudden mood swings and depression.

Wolf Moon Spell

During the first full-moon night of the year you will burn in your Altar an incense stick of pineapple or mimosa, a black candle (to override the negativity you dragged from the previous year), a blue candle (so your new thoughts this year are positive) and a silver candle. (so the Mother Goddess always hears your desires.) You will bless your Altar with a piece of onyx or garnet with the next spell and dedicate ten minutes to meditate on the proposed projects for the new year.

Take the onyx or garnet crystal with both hands to the chest and say the following incantation:

“Oh, gods and spirits that guard this moon, bless this gem as a reflection of power, cleanse my soul, body and mind through it, bless my steps now and forever.”

The more round the moon becomes... The stronger our Health becomes.

NOVEMBER FULL MOON

Mourning Moon & Beaver Moon

The full moon of November is the penultimate moon of the year, the months of greater magical power have passed by and now we prepare to face the coldest months of the year. It is the month in which little goats were sacrificed in the name of the Goddess Isis to insure crops and good fortune in the coming days.

Traditionally the yellow topaz and citrine are considered as November gems, the flower of this month is the chrysanthemum, the colors associated with this month are pink, gray and teal. Full Moon in Taurus ♉️

Magic during Full Moon. That Lunar phase of great power, when the Moon is facing the Earth completely showing her lit face and illuminates the trails and fields with her divine blessing, is the time to perform physical, mental or spiritual maturity related rituals. This phase corresponds to the Mother Goddess, she blesses us with her power and promises of a new life, we perform all kinds of rituals in our group to strengthen our own magic or mental capacities.

That night we can perform invocation rites with an eye to summon Gods and Spirits, invoke the Moon Goddess and perform spells and manufacture talismans of great power, open portals to other worlds and produce all kinds of transformations in our life.

This Moon symbolizes the power at its peak, maturity and knowledge. It is the time to bless magic items and prepare concoctions that strengthen our powers, potions, love potions and visualizations. We must also take this Omens filled moon to perform divination rituals and study the stars.

The moon is so powerful that she has the power of transmutation, can transform a creature into another and change the shape of a witch in any animal, she can transmigrate the human soul to another state and even strengthen the oldest spells.

When the Moon is in earth signs like Taurus, Virgo & Capricorn, it is the ideal moment for magic that involves the element Earth, nature and plants,  the earth signs give us the power to cast spells that promote will and sympathy.

On the Moon of Earth we conjure gnomes and elves, those tiny but wise spirits of the forest and gardens. Coffee or green are the colors for candles that we use in the ritual space during this day, and it is preferable that this magic altars face North if possible.

Moon in Taurus, is best suited to perform magic that is related to self-control and will, spells that involve making decisions, changes, competitive spirit and those rituals to balance the personality,  free time, healings and physical and mental cures are issues to be addressed during the Moon in Taurus and also the development of ideas and projects.

During this Moon can perform trade-related magic, selling real estate, home protection, love and beauty, self-acceptance and prudence, we also perform in this Moon the proper rituals to combat materialistic greed, possessiveness, obstinacy and stubbornness, manufacture talismans channeling the power of the Earth and renewing energy.

Beaver Moon Healing Spell

At night of November full moon we will perform this simple healing ritual with powers of Mother Earth to heal our body's aches and pains. We will anoint a dark glass bottle (with lid) with natural oils of cinnamon, fill it with soil from seven different sites, a handful of peppermint, five small quartz crystals and a few drops of essential oil of myrrh or myrrh perfume, seal it tight and tie around a red string where we will tie seven knots, light a red candle with our name on it and pour candle wax on the bottle cap to completely seal it. Whenever you perceive any discomfort or pain light a red or green candle next to bottle to reactivate its healing qualities and keep it in a cool, safe place.

November little rite for Health & Love

It is time to renew the energies that we have exhausted during the year as well as health and feelings, for this ritual draw the corresponding magic circle, this time you can circle with a mixture of sea salt and rosemary. Burn a stick of lavender incense and an orange or dark green candle.

Place in a small cauldron or bowl a mixture with dried roots of Florence, lily, verbena and ginger, a few drops of essential oil of peppermint or lavender and, while reciting, proceed to light seven (7) white candles to symbolize the seven points energy connecting the astral body and the physical one. After reciting the incantation, burn the herb mixture like  incense.

“Out of my life and my surroundings everything that wounds me and hurts me, welcome be to my life everything that renews and strengthens me before all chaos.”
