Prosperity, Joy & Peace.

Prosperity, Joy & Peace.

How to call them from your Holidays Eve dinner

Those magical elements you need if you want to organize a Christmas/Holidays dinner to attract prosperity, joy, and health in the next cycle.

Although Christmas Eve or Christmas Eve, it is a Catholic holiday with certain pagan origins that seek to celebrate the nativity of the son of the god of the Jews, today Christmas dinner is rather an excuse that many take advantage of to reunite with family and friends, work colleagues and loved ones, when it comes to Christmas Eve, everyone is welcome.

Then I will share with you a brief list of elements that in my belief and experience it is important to keep with you at the table, especially on these festive dates to attract the best energy, and more importantly, to grant the desire to repeat this special occasion annually attracting more abundance in each cycle.

Candles

They provide the best lighting and an atmosphere full of romance, dim light, and blessings, are a source of vital energy for any environment and light the way for our loved ones.

Light the candles using preferably wooden matches and do not blow them out, although the most suitable color for the occasion series white, green or red, remember that you can also use blue, gold, violet or silver.

Choose the color according to your wishes (red for love, green for money, white for peace) and always recite a small personal mantra before lighting the wick of each candle.

Apples

They are essential on these festive dates, red apples on the table indicate prosperity, good health, protection, and harmony.

Place a red apple for each guest in a wooden or glass bowl, or on a single-colored plate, you can cheat on it and place caramel apples that will also serve as dessert.

Mistletoe

This plant is a powerful symbol of good luck and perseverance, by joining them with apples they attract health, love, and prosperity, and the candles are responsible for boosting their energy.

Some branches of bite around the table or in the center of it along with the apples and candles will give very good energy to all who are present.

Holly

It symbolizes good fortune, especially in the field of love, it was widely used in the time of the Celts, for them it was a custom to decorate the houses with holly garlands to protect their inhabitants and avoid unwanted visits throughout the year.

Cinnamon

Its extremely sweet and slightly spicy aroma has always been linked to the love, money, and protection of our material goods (home, car, commercial premises, office, etc, ...). In my books, I usually advise that you make a blend with cinnamon and apple essential oil, which you can anoint on any object, amulet or garment to make it a powerful protection talisman, and it is a quite functional mixture so do not doubt its powers.

Your smile

That is the most important talisman that should not be missing at the table, leave worries aside for a moment, let go of that feeling of wanting to change what is not in your hands, stop focusing on what you cannot control, and focus your energy on positive thoughts to give all your guests an atmosphere of protection and joy that can be repeated every year.

Blessings to all.

Five Essential & Magickal elements that can not be missing at home this Christmas season.

Five essential elements
you can't miss at home this Christmas season.

This year 2019 I have become more intimate with this blog when it comes to sharing, previously it was much more general, but in this tiny virtual space, I have begun to feel increasingly safe and confident to share those small dailies and seasonal rituals that I usually perform.

Every Christmas season I dedicate myself to share a couple of posts about it, but this year I have made the decision to write about all those topics that have consulted me about it annually, and so I clarify the doubts of many.

Here below I am going to leave you a simple list with five essential elements that should not be missing in your home this December 2019.

  • Apples, for health and abundance.

Apples are essential symbols of winter, essentially because of their strong decorative red color, they symbolize abundance, protection, and wisdom, they are a good source of vitamin C and other nutrients, and it is common to find decorative ceramic apples to place as a centerpiece.

I invite you to break briefly with that aesthetic and get some real apples, place a bowl, preferably glass on the dining room table or in the kitchen, and keep it filled with apples of various sizes and colors throughout the season, keep them fresh and invite your visitors to eat them, at the end of the season you can take the remaining apples to make juice or jam.

  • Candles, for clarity and light at all times.

They symbolize the light that separates darkness and human ingenuity (when created), they are an essential element of the season due to their association with the pagan rites that began these celebrations more than two millennia ago.

Acquire candles of different sizes and shapes in colors red (to activate energy), white (to purify and protect) and gold (channeler of good fortune), place these candles in different key points of the home, next to the entrance door , near the windows, in the dining room or in the study, and light one every day during the night to light the way for your loved ones who come to visit from the beyond, to give you company and see that everything is fine.

(Keep candles away from curtains, tablecloths, pets, and children).

  • White quartz, for protection and healing.

Quartz is a good source of energy and is available in the greatest possible diversity of sizes and presentations. They protect and provide a space for healing and calm, they transmute energy slowly and steadily, and they are quite colorful.

Each Christmas season I personally place various quartz in the corners of the home, first performed a brief ritual of placing them in clean water with a few drops of myrrh or verbena essential oil in a cup overnight, the next day I clean them with a dry cloth and placed them in their respective places.

If you wish, you can fill a small wooden or glass bowl with several pieces of quartz and place it as a “decoration” in a corner of the home, or hang them from the tree.

  • Flowers, to connect with nature and honor her motherhood.

The flowers symbolize the growing spirit of nature, the motherhood of the earth and divine fertility, they are mostly associated with the feminine energy of the human being.

A bunch of red or white flowers at home will be a magical element to welcome the well-intentioned spirits to our home, a bunch of flowers tells the spirits "here you are welcome, to stay and take care of us." Red flowers activate the energy of prosperity while white flowers provide protection and serenity.

  • Christmas nutcracker, for protection and charisma.

Nutcrackers are as traditional as they are modern, thanks to the famous winter ballet they have become Christmas decorative elements around the world, the nutcrackers or “toy soldiers” come from German folklore that considered them guardians of the home.

In old Germany the figure of these guardians with huge mouths were carved in wood and metal, and they were kept close to the doors to “bite” the intruder spirits, from the emergence of the most charismatic figure of the red and white nutcracker with Soldier suit and huge Russian hat, these went from being figures of conventional folklore to being figures associated with Christmas.

An old trick we do at home to burn sage and rosemary near the nutcracker to keep them awake and free from evil spirits, inviting guardian spirits to inhabit them during the season.

Your Holiday Tree, Magic Sorcery & Tradition.

Your Christmas Tree
That festive spirit in your home.

“When the first Christians arrived in northern Europe, they discovered that their inhabitants celebrated the birth of Frey, the god of the Sun and fertility, adorning a perennial tree, on the date close to Christian Christmas. This tree symbolized the tree of the Universe, called Yggdrasil, in whose crown was Asgard (the abode of the gods) and Valhalla (Odin's palace); and in the deepest roots was Helheim (the kingdom of the dead). Later with the evangelization of these peoples, the converts took the idea of the tree, to celebrate the birth of Christ.

It is said that St. Boniface (680-754), evangelize of Germany, took an ax and cut a tree that represented the Yggdrasil (although it could also be a tree consecrated to Thor), and instead planted a pine, which for being perennial, symbolized the love of God, adorning it with apples and candles. Apples symbolized original sin and temptations, while candles represented the light of Jesus Christ as the light of the world. As time went by, apples and candles became spheres, lights, and other ornaments.

Then the tradition of putting gifts for children under the tree, sent by Saint Nicholas or also known as Santa Claus (and Santa Claus) or the Magi, was added, depending on the customs of the area where you are. ”

The true origin of Christmas
by David C. Pack

The American Encyclopedia, 1956 edition, adds: “Christmas… was not observed in the first centuries of the Christian church, since the general way was to celebrate the deaths of notable people, instead of their birth… a party was established in memory of this event [the birth of Christ] in the fourth century. In the fifth century, the western church ordered that the feast be celebrated on the day of the rites of the birth of the sun, and at the close of Saturnalia, since there was no accurate knowledge of the day of the birth of Christ.”

The real Post starts here.

Having already omitted all previous controversy to avoid the typical "Christians should not celebrate it because it is of pagan origin" or "pagans should not celebrate that so as not to confuse with Christians", we can now focus on the theme of this Post.

The symbology and magic linked to the Christmas Tree is a topic of debate every season before winter on the Internet, I usually share some short post about it on my social networks, but here you can develop the idea better and with greater clarity.

The Christmas Tree is a tradition of pagan origin, to be more specific, the winter tree is celebrating more than 2750 years, is clearly much older than Christianity, the pagans used it as a sacred symbol of communion with the gods before the When winter came, there is evidence that both Celtic and Viking peoples had similar celebrations around evergreen trees, and it would be the Druids and other pagan priests and magicians who organized this celebration annually.

Unlike the old pagan towns that lived in full contact with nature (bless them), we live in cities, surrounded by technology and with smartphones, so clearly the symbolism has changed and has changed a lot.

For many of us the placement of the Christmas Tree represents something very different from the death of the God of light, or the Universe its worlds, for many it is a sacred symbol of family tradition that they try to maintain, even within the pagan currents to honor to their loved ones, rather a social custom-like decorating for 'All hallows eve' (Halloween), for others it represents a seasonal decoration loaded with ethnic elements typical of the customs of each country, while for many like me, it is a way of venerating nature in a certain way within the home, a traditional symbol that honors our ancestors from other parts of the world, a connection with the past, as a magical portal that during winter connects us with our loved ones of the past and the future, and according to my parents, an emblem of the prosperity of the home.

Once you decide to place the Christmas tree, a range of options arises, what is the most illuminated, wide and visible place in the house to place it ?, When to place it and when to remove it ?, How to decorate it and with whom? and many more.

The essential thing is to understand the power you put into it once you realize it, the power of two or more people placing and decorating the Christmas tree is a symbol of enormous power and teamwork, now, a Christmas tree at home gives welcome to the spirits of nature of all kinds and of all races.

At home we usually have a very strong saying for us, once you remove the holiday tree, you should start preparing to have a much more beautiful and abundant one the following year, and that is repeated every year.

The festive tree or Christmas tree, is a symbol for many of family tradition and prosperity, symbolizes abundance, and as long as you have it, the spirit that inhabits you will remain with you until the following year to place another new one, which will be the home of this spirit, and for that, he must give you support and prosperity throughout the year.

At home we celebrate by placing the festive tree from the first week of November, and we take care of choosing the decorative elements that are consistent with our wishes for the following year, because the tree is like a Christmas letter where you write your wishes, use ornaments and red ties if you want to attract love and passion for the coming year, blue if you want to raise your work position and gain recognition, golden to attract good fortune and material wealth, green to attract money and abundance, white if you want to heal personal relationships and strengthen the bond familiar, purple if you feel in a complicated situation and want to transmute this positive situation for the following year, coffee if you want stability or want to move from where you are, orange to raise the joy at home and fight against depression, pink to honor the spirit from home, or yellow for joy, love, and money.

In addition to the colors, the realization of thematic trees is very fashionable today, a tree decorated with toys will attract prosperity and happiness to the children in the house, while a tree decorated entirely with ties will bring family union, a tree decorated with spheres and bright apples attract abundance and avoid scarcity, while a tree decorated with hearts will attract love.

In addition to all of the above, there are other characteristic elements that you can use for these colors.

  • The ties represent prosperous cycles and family union.
  • The spheres and garlands on the tree represent gifts from the gods of heaven, gifts, and treasures.
  • The stars represent good wishes that will be fulfilled the following year.
  • The lights, which you can get in different colors, symbolize the light that accompanies us at all times.

Magic in your Tree

The holiday tree works as a powerful temporary altar for good wishes, which is why we use it during these dates to strengthen the fulfillment of our good wishes.

At home we tie cloth bands of different colors to make wishes in honor of our loved ones, this consists of taking a cloth tape, visualizing the person for whom we made the wish, asking aloud in the form of a mantra what you want for this person, and make a knot with this ribbon on a tree branch.

A piece of pyrite hanging from the Christmas tree will bring protection to the home and your loved ones, hanging white quartz from the branches will provide protection and an extra dose of energy to the spirit of the tree to grant the wishes that are being requested.

Charm bags / Mojo bags for the Christmas Tree.

Something I do every year, no matter what country or city I am in, is making some bags of amulets with a combination of herbs and crystals for prosperity, joy, protection and good luck. Then I dedicate myself to hide them very carefully in different corners of the tree and among its branches so that my friends come for them and collect them personally.

I have performed this ritual for several years and it is very beautiful as people feel a certain obligation to visit me to find their bags of amulets, it has already become a tradition.

You can make a combination of herbs and dried aromatic flowers with different colored quartz to attract different energies, perfume the bag with a few drops of ylang-ylang oil, cedar and cinnamon, pass it through the smoke of an incense stick and place it completely sealed in the tree.

The bags of amulets are made of different colored fabric to sponsor different desires, people come home and take them randomly from the tree, not more than one per person, and the bag they get represents the desire that will gain more strength the year coming, red for those who will be lucky in love, green means luck in money, blue is luck in personal projects, white represents a year of spiritual growth, etc.

My #SocialMedia break

No posting / No liking / Just living

Hey lovers and followers! I'm taking a little break of #SocialMedia so, this is 'temporarily' closed for real Spiritual Maintenance. You can find in the meantime here me in my blog (remember to subscribe) and text me to DM if you want/need to contact me or be part of my private group.

For some months now I have been dealing with this possibility, but several projects have emerged, one after the other, and it was difficult for me to say no to any of these, each project and each opportunity is incredible in its own way,

For those who have been following me for some time, they know that I finished the University after having studied "Marketing and Advertising" with a specialization in 'Digital Marketing' and application of "Social Media" for advertising campaigns, it was not the right career for me, but I did because I would like to, I simply had an obligation with myself to have a university degree as a tool to be able to emigrate in the future outside a country in crisis.

While that is true, this career has opened many doors and allowed me to meet many artists and businessmen that I really admire, however, dealing 24/7 with individuals who believe that social networks are a lifetime, it is truly sickly.

My passage through social networks has always been a complication, I come from the old school of blogs and internet forums, from the extensive mailing lists and from sitting down to read the comments on my computer with a cup of coffee, dedicating myself a couple of hours a day to it is a hobby that allows me to be connected with followers and readers from all over the world.

Start my first forum on the Internet to discuss shamanism and spiritual work in 2006, on the website (very famous at that time in Latin America) 'ElEspejomagico.com', I remained as the leader of the forum for several years until the Page closed, I started my first blog about magic and astrology in 2009, and this blog where I write entirely in English in 2017, not to mention that I had a column that was published Month by Month in the Venezuelan magazine 'Dominical' where he answered emails with questions of an esoteric nature and shared rituals constantly.

But social networks, that's another story, those who follow me know that for me personally, and I never give up on telling my clients, Facebook is a sick aberration, it's depressing, overwhelming, boring, full of groups with thousands of participants who don't They are interested in being there, absurd memes, and hate groups. Once someone said that "social networks were a reflection of reality", that person has always been quite wrong, I read and analyze in detail my user statistics and statistics of my clients, and I know very well that this is not true, but I will not explain that here because it would be material for an entire post, or even for a complete book that probably nobody would read, because everyone would be busy reading memes and overwhelming advertisements of unnecessary products on Facebook.

Instagram is for me (and in my opinion) so fun (because in a certain way it allows content creators to explore beyond its limits) as overwhelming, excessive advertising, privacy issues and an absurd algorithm that turns the social network into Most antisocial platform of all, stimulates the ego of a few while embracing the anxiety of many others, any post can easily reach 500 or 1k likes for only a minimum payment of $ 10, and many of my clients, in the anxiety to try If they seem relevant to other brands of doubtful quality and uncertain origin (but with a greater number of likes and followers), they invest large sums of money to achieve some relevance and thus avoid being negatively compared to their rivals.

Signatures and companies have passed through my files and desk capable of investing figures between $ 10k and $ 25k (($ 10,000 - $ 25,000) for a small advertisement to promote some minor product, as in other cases, I have served clients with incredible products, phenomenal and with true quality, that lack that budget, and I have had to dedicate myself with them to create low-budget campaigns putting the whole heart and creativity to get a quarter of the results we are looking for, all due to a simple algorithm that does not stop changing every six months to force you to spend more time within the social network.

Social networks feed the anxiety and idolatry of people who simply seek to be popular simply because, practically, being themselves, it is depressing for many individuals, owners of real brands, products and services, to see how their businesses seem be irrelevant compared to other brands that lack quality and transparency, not because they have a better product or a better work team, but simply because they have the budget to buy a larger number of ads that allow them to gain followers on social networks and be invited to any beauty pageant to advertise their products there, simply based on the number of followers they have.

Social networks are, like everything that has been created by the hand of man, a double-edged sword, although you can use them to communicate great ideas, poems, music, promote events, products, and services, as well as to contact your loved ones. Social networks are currently the main weaponry of dishonest politicians (Donald Trump, Barnie Sanders, Hugo Chavez, Nicolas Maduro, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, etc...) to promote their separatist ideas and their unfounded and moral opinions in the Healthier and easier to impress minds of the youngest.

And as long as the publicity of a political nature is welcome on social networks, they will not be safe, because we cannot consider a platform whose income comes from the marketing team of a Republican candidate without political experience, whose ideology is based on free trade of weapons and the construction of a wall to prevent the entry of immigrants who for years have built this nation on their backs.

My reasons to enter?

Despite all of the above, even wanting to stay low profile, I have been obliged to join social networks to promote my work, because if previously when blogs were not fashionable, I could easily receive about 150 visitors per day in my page, for six years the visits vaguely reach 150 people per month if I do not focus on advertising, incredible this taking into account that many blogs use my material as a reference for their content.

If I focus on saturating social networks announcing every time I make a new post, I get around 500 visits in one day, 968 visits on a Friday, but that implies hours of work and content creation for social networks, just to end up rivaling with larger pages or bloggers with a high promotion budget.

Even so, I have managed to keep my blog all this time and grow the subscriber list by 37% thanks to the constant publication, however, this means falling into the trick routine of other blogs, publishing excess content of lower quality, with Less dedication and much less detail.

What will I do now?

Far from the drama, the truth is that I will take advantage of those 12 hours a week that I dedicate to my social media to focus on my next books that are quite late for reasons beyond my control, work on my clients, of which I am literally delivering the account of Most of these to some colleagues, travel a little through two or three cities that I'm dying to meet, listen to music and spend quality time at home with my partner.

I will continue to publish something new every week here in my blog, and I will continue to leave the links of each post in my twitter account as usual, which is actually with Tumblr, the only social networks of my pleasure and respect.

I am also creating a small group exclusively to share my daily content, links to my blog, ads for books and workshops, etc ... Through the application for Telegram smartphones, if you want the number just ask for it here below in the comments or write me a DM on Twitter or Tumblr.

Books & Workshops

I started writing my next book around March 2016, and it is not ready yet, my other book is practically in the hands of the publishing house, it is entirely up to them the decision to publish it or not, I am planning some workshops in certain stores in the city NY and NJ for the Summer-Fall 2020 season, as well as I, will be present at the WitchFest in New York and at the HexFest 2020 in New Orleans.

See you soon, I hope to return to social networks in late winter and early spring 2020.

With much love to all my faithful readers and followers, this Urban Shaman sends blessings and much love.

Neptune & Jupiter closing 2019 with a very good vibe for you.

The influential Neptune

Neptune has been retrograde in the sign of Pisces since June, the planet of the seas and waves has been at a slow but steady pace in the most mystical sign of the zodiac, this moment has been creating a strong creative tension and a sensation of stagnation, a clear "I do not know why this does not progress", but that is about to end.

Neptune begins to take its direct course on November 27, just after the new moon, we will then feel that those waters (hitherto stagnant) of Neptune, begin to flow freely and the creative expression returns to its usual course.

It is a time to reconnect with that that inspires you and that you can feel that you have let go for a long time, it is a moment to reconnect with that creative source that inspires and heals your spirit connecting with something that is transcendent in your life.

Between waves and visions of a distant future.

Neptune is linked to the movement of the deep sea (the secrets) and precognitive dreams (caution and clairvoyance), now that the blue planet is returning to its usual rhythm, it is recommended that you be prepared for those secrets that may come to light and be cautious about the effects they will have on your perspective and way of understanding the world around you.

Jupiter

Jupiter in Sagittarius is the sign of union and progress, it is the "join and win" in all its context, the retrograde period of Jupiter occurred between April and August, and it was a time to analyze the mistakes we have made in our own processes and projects, it was time to know exactly how we self-sabotage and why, from there start from scratch to live in a different way, more focused on the now and the future, and on how to improve our lifestyle .

Jupiter, the planet of goals and glory, positioned in the sign of the archer, is getting you to analyze your relationship with the outside world and abroad, to think about traveling and knowing the world, studying different languages and letting yourself be influenced by the world that you do not know, is a moment that motivates you to expand your horizons and leave the comfort zone.

Seeking personal growth is Jupiter's goal, and that is why it is forcing you to get down to action.

The interaction of the gods.

On November 24 there is a long-awaited dance of father and daughter, the conjunction between Jupiter in Sagittarius (your goals) with Venus in Capricorn (your desires), if Jupiter represents your way of achieving your goals, and Venus represents your way of feel and desire, this strategic position of both in the signs of Sagittarius and Capricorn (the direction and prudence), are the impulse that you may need to achieve your personal goals (not work or financial) from a new perspective, understanding that it is exactly what you are doing wrong, what you should improve on yourself, and what you really want and need.

November New Moon // Sagittarius Moon.

New moon November

This solar cycle is about to close, and the new moons are running out, so if you still have growth intentions that you want to plant to make them emerge throughout 2020, this new moon is one of your last opportunities to do so,

The new moon occurs on November 26 in grade 4 of the sign of Sagittarius, it is a moon of fire that guides and drives us towards new forms of expression, new ways to reach our goals and new perspectives on the work we are doing.

This is a very good lunar cycle of personal growth and financial expansion, which gives us a period of six months (until the full moon in Sagittarius) to sow new growth intentions and put our effort into the creation of new projects.

The archer's moon

The new moon in Sagittarius is the moon that seeks merit and celebration, it is time to look for what you deserve and celebrate what you have achieved. It is time to take inspiration from the archer, who unlike other signs of the zodiac, properly points to his objective with determination and true detail before firing /

This moon teaches us to put more care and detail into what we are looking to manifest, be it a loving aspect, be it a long-term project, a business plan or the launch of a brand, product or service. Sagittarius teaches us to properly study the correct procedures before acting, prepare the ground, reconcile contacts, and the new moon gives us that energy we need to clean the environment and give each project the time and detail it needs.

This is the moon of Sagittarius in the Sagittarius month (the obvious)

The moon and the sun in the sign of the archer propel you to go ahead with your projects and focus for a moment on the distant future, the solar cycle is about to end and it is time that you feel with the most important person, with yourself, and leave in writing your goals, wishes and objectives for the coming 2020 cycle.

So mote it be

Goddess Hecate

That Goddess Hecate,
before and after the
Queen Mother of all the Witches.

In a world of gods and social media,
who makes the most noise is the King... Or the Queen?

I have nothing, absolutely nothing against Hecate as a divinity worshiped by thousands (I begin to believe that thanks to social networks, perhaps millions), but as I am popular for saying what I think, and for writing it too, although they may be opinions Unpopular, I have no fear in writing something that many are thinking but refuse to share for fear of being almost exiled permanently from the metaphysical community.

Hecate, she's the bad girl in the class.

It is popular among men and women, its ambiguity, its triple character (and all of them quite dark in turn), its immense titles (which apparently has much more now than in ancient Greece itself), especially (and I repeat) this triple character as a dark goddess, lunar and infernal goddess, is clearly the bad girl in the classroom that everyone wants to be friends with, but yes, many forget that the bad girl in the class is not always as evil as she seems, and often ends up being another girl who doesn't feel pretty enough to be part of the cheerleading club, or smart enough to join the chess club, she feels ashamed, enough to refuse to enter the comedy club or of singing, and simply prefer to put on makeup, be the bulling of the school, and popularize among (obviously) the least popular, minorities, and all those who for one reason or another have felt discriminated against by society, you Does this sound familiar?

Yes, the description fits like a ring to the finger, and I have absolutely nothing against the goddess, quite the contrary, it is one of the deities that my favoritism has, perhaps it is because I began to adore her from a very young age when I read about her for the first time in an esoteric magazine in my native Venezuela (Ronda Magazine, March edition 1999), so after a while, it is natural that I don't think it's “the fashion wave”, I think that in a certain way I understood it after working so much with it, and with some coven of "Wiccan inspiration", so growing and learning more, it simply became a divine source in my little and very eclectic pantheon.

The Hecate of my youth

The first time I read about Hecate in that magazine, they mention her as “the Greek goddess of sorcery and the arcane, queen of the night and the witches”, accompanied by a couple of illustrations of her sculptures, and an extensive article on the popularity of this legendary goddess in the growing groups of modern witches of a city (by then entirely unknown to me) of San Francisco in the USA.

After having read the article a couple of times, so as a couple of rituals that accompanied him (one to get back at a lover and another to protect the home), I was quick to find information about Hecate in encyclopedias and dictionaries, I remember having memorized that Pope's illustrated dictionary said "Hecate: Greek goddess of sorcery, triple character, lunar, marine and infernal", while only vaguely mentioned in a couple of books of 'White Magic' and 'Wicca' of those that Mama keeps in her personal library next to the kitchen.

An encyclopedic book of Greek myths, gods and monsters, claimed that she was a wild goddess of Egyptian origin who would later have been worshiped by the Greeks and that her cult would have been transformed into something increasingly large. On the other hand, a couple of family members (Andres and Mary), both historians who had lived several years in Greece, seeing my fascination about the subject when I asked them about it, they only told me:

“The truth is, she had a cult in its time, but it was not as big as the books claim, it would have one or another temple, but at that time people were more focused on worshiping the gods of grain and commerce, or of vegetation and war, because they were subjects from day to day, homosexuality was not persecuted, rather it was quite acceptable, so a goddess like her would not really be revered by any minority who felt despised, and the priestesses more revered the cult of Aphrodite, Hera or Hestia, who they had more to do with the society of that time, if you compare it with the new times, Hecate was the equivalent to some local Santa of some church, if, of course, with many attributes, but in those times of war, where civilization was booming, it would not be as relevant, more than for some travelers who prayed at the crossroads to prevent danger, although most of these travelers were merchants, and they chose to pray to Hermes (god of travelers and commerce) or Athena (which had several temples and statues at the entrances of the most important cities).”

After that explanation I will not deny that I felt somewhat disappointed, although he insisted on keeping a couple of drawings that I made of her next to my altar (Gods! If that altar spoke! What would I not say?), This experience, or a very similar one it was repeated years later when I managed to read Hesiod's "Theogony", and the 1985 book written by Burkert, W. "Greek religion: archaic and classical", because while most of the magic and sorcery books of the moment insist in making Hecate looks like a kind of 'Saint patron of the mystical arts and sorcery, indomitable queen of the night and mother of all witches, and owner of dozens of attributes', the books of Greek history and paleontology, especially those written by well-qualified Greek authors and academics, they deny most of these attributes and explain it in quite interesting ways.

But it was my professor of 'psychology of marketing', Jonathan Alejandro Goncalves, during my third semester of marketing and advertising at the University, who once asked me about it for the realization of an essay (maybe later I tell you how this discussion arose because it is a much longer story), and finally, he concluded that the cult of Hecate was growing "at all mysterious" at this time and that it was something of common sense very easy to understand, she represented minorities, these minorities that for the Greeks were not important, minorities that today are news daily thanks to newspapers and social networks, but at that time, she was just one goddess outside the twelve Olympians, and today, many teenagers who feel "Out of place" or "not socially accepted" identify with it.

My conclusion in writing in that essay on ‘the evolution of marketing around certain religious figures’ was:

"While all other female deities represented the goods and pleasures idealized by Greek society, Aphrodite symbolizes love and beauty, femininity and acceptance of carnal pleasures, Athena symbolizes wisdom, the firmness of civilization, philosophy, understanding, and reasoning, Hera represented the complete and complete woman, lover, wife, and mother, also a queen of the heavens, and Vesta symbolized that wise, discreet, virginal woman who took care of the home and society, Hecate was On the contrary, it was not even Greek, it was a foreign deity that was passing through, a goddess who crossed the deserts and represented all that which the Greeks feared, such as contempt and social disrepute.

Hecate was a goddess who hid in the night, her temples had no signs with directions (unlike everyone else), her sacrifices were important, but they never became more important than those of Bacchus, the god of wine, or Ares, the god of war, his temples do not even have a decent decoration, only women who did not marry and were not virgins (so they could not be vestal virgins) will seek worship in it, as they were outside the socially accepted stereotype in the time, they were like Hecate, a minority woman to whom other gods refused to invite the festivities, she was not married, nor had children, but worse, unlike Athena, Vesta and Artemis, there was no great myth behind her virginity, she simply had no lovers, any poet could add that her lover was the night, or that she did not find pleasure in men, but for Greek society, where sensuality was as relevant as the art and philosophy, this would not be seen as something healthy, and it is quite strange coming from such an extravagant figure. ”

If you analyze it carefully, it represented not only the immigrant who arrives to conquer others with his hypnotic talents but also, was a sorceress, which would not be well seen by the priests and priestesses of other better-known deities, however, they existed a couple of myths that sought to enhance her divine image, such as the fact that she had taken care of Zeus in a cave when she was a child hiding from her father, and in that tradition where she is the mother of the witches Medea and Circe.

After this, Hecate served as a character in several heroic tales of the time, always represented as goddess of sorcery, from the middle ages she is seen as "mother of all the great witches and magicians", especially in several versions of 'The Arthurian cycle', and in much more recent stories, takes the role of Echidna as the mother of many myth monsters, which, far from raising its divine status, rather helps to create greater confusion around the character.

An immortal Sorceress
that we all worship in a certain way.

However, Hecate has this hypnotic power over all of us who read about it, its name carries a huge almost inspiring appeal, and its image is linked to the greatest (and also some of the most important) books of magic and sorcery. In some books she is portrayed as the queen of all witches and wizards, in others, she is a dark goddess of sorcery and magic, in a certain book about transformations she is the main divinity, while in Wicca, it is she who mostly embodies the triple lunar goddess whom witches worship.

Wicca, neo-paganism, some 1899 book entitled "Aradia or The Gospel of the Witches", and its name is mentioned in virtually all television series about witches, wizards, and sorcerers, including the mythical 'Charmed' with Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowen, where in one episode they introduce us to 'Hecate, a female demon who plays the role of queen of the underworld', have made our dark goddess a difficult character to ignore in today's metaphysical society.

Hecate now

The Hecate of now is perhaps much more complex and eclectic than the original, Hecate is seen as the Goddess-mother and queen of all the witches, the Immaculate Sorceress, goddess of the dogs and all the creatures of dark fur, the lady of the crows, goddess of cemeteries and crossroads, queen and lady of the night and all her creatures, goddess of keys and doors, as well as of all paths, mother of all seers and psychics, queen of ghosts, and Of course, goddess of magic, divination, and sorcery, obviously not forgetting, lunar goddess, and for some modern cults, the goddess who protects the seas during the night.

In the Wicca it is practically an offense not to meet Hecate, it is almost always the first to be mentioned, you can find entire books full of quite idealized information about her. At one point they make me think… “Is that nobody else works in Olympus ???”, but the truth is that it is interesting how our society has changed positively to such an extent, that one that was once an almost irrelevant goddess for many, not even becoming included in the Olympic gods, where (let's be honest at heart) until Bacchus who was a god of wine and the holidays had a chair, Vesta, the goddess of home and architecture, had a chair, Hera, the goddess of marriage, had a chair, Hermes, the messenger of all the gods, had a chair, literally the UPS service of Olympus had a chair !! And Hecate no!

But now times have changed, minorities have begun to unite with each other, and have formed a huge social group of different ethnicities where now, being part of some minority is practically a fad.

The original Hecate

The original Hecate was represented as a simple goddess, sitting on a throne and wearing a crown of flowers on her head, it was thus represented before, and until two centuries after the invasion of the Persians to Greece, contemporary with the myth of the Titanomaquia, where apparently Hecate herself was present providing assistance to the Olympic gods according to some versions such as Hesiod and Pausanias.

It was not until the end of the 5th century BC. C, when Hecate began to be represented as a triple goddess by (the truth very few) artists and sculptors of the time, mostly holding in his hands a torch, a snake or a key, but always maintaining a warm and thoughtful expression in his face, and many times maintaining her crown of flowers, alluding to her minor role as a goddess of nature or a queen of the woods.

The larger animals were dedicated in sacrifice to other seemingly more important Gods, as well as the libations of milk and honey, while to Hecate, the owners of some establishments left pieces of meat at the crossroads to gain their protection (which enhances its dark and almost demonic aspect), or they sacrificed dogs, which was next to the donkey one of the few animals that were forbidden to serve in the banquets and sacrifices of the greater gods, for these being an offense to the presence of Vesta and Ares, Because of this, Hecate simply receives the remains of meat from banquets and dogs that were too old to be useful in the home.

However, despite all the above, in the myth of Jason and the Argonauts, this hero offers Hecate a libation of honey at night with blood from the throat of a sheep, performs this ritual by a river dressed entirely in a black robe under the guidance of the sorceress and priestess Medea.

The chthonic symbolism of the previous ritual speaks for itself, representing not only a goddess before the best-known Greek civilization but also a sacred ritual to venerate the first gods since man lived in the caves.

In Thrace, around the 5th century, B.C. Hecate was considered a goddess of borders, boundaries, roads, and thresholds, later she would also be revered as a goddess of childbirth and the upbringing of young people, in large part because her priests were eunuchs who must be trained in this labor class It only took two centuries after this to reach the title as "patron" of the city of Estratonicea (now Eskihisar, Turkey) and have a temple in Laguna, where the annual festivities, although they were not the largest if they attracted people from other cities.

The Goddess of Hesiod

It was the Greek poet, Hesiod, who raised Hecate's status to a point where other philosophers and speakers of the time are debated.

Hesiod seemed to be a great devotee of the goddess, whom she revered without hesitation, filled her entire poetry and stories with references to the enormous power of the goddess, and in response to the 'seemingly unknown greatness of the goddess', which only he seemed to know, this was limited to proclaiming that its power “will come as a gift from and a superior origin ”, referring to the fact that Zeus would have given him divinity, absolute control over all the powers of other gods, being the only one capable of filling humanity with all kinds of gifts.

An increasingly uncertain origin

Hesiod turned Hecate into a goddess of the night and a night walk, a queen of the woods and a sorceress, but it was also the same, who under divine inspiration, affirmed the origin of Hecate, making her the daughter of Asteria, the goddess of stars, which would make her be the sister of Leto (the light of day), aunt of Apollo (the sun) and Artemis (the moon), granddaughter of Febe (primal goddess of the moon).

Another later version of this story states that Hecate was a mortal priestess of the goddess Artemis, and her name was Iphigenia, Iphigenia offends the goddess with insults after being requested in sacrifice by Zeus, and being tired of sacrificing outsiders in the temple by order of the goddess, because of this falls into madness and commits suicide. Before the horrendous spectacle, Artemis, wanting not to repeat what Athena did when turning the body raped by Poseidon of her priestess Medusa, into a horrifying beast, the lunar goddess decorates the body of Iphigenia with flowers and jewels and whispers in her ear looking for the elevation of his spirit, then Iphigenia wakes up in the Elysian fields turned into a goddess, then going to be called Hecate, an avenging goddess of wounded women.

An alternative version that explains its origin as a pre-Olympic chthonic goddess, affirms that she is a titan (a primal divinity before the “gods”), daughter of Perses and Asteria, being a powerful helper and protector of the human race whom she always favors. It was the only titan who helped Zeus during the Titanomaquia, which is why she was not banished to the domains of the Underworld after the defeat of the Titans by the Olympic gods.

A more modern myth and after the invasion of Rome, tells us that it would be a virgin priestess who had stolen her mother's carmine pot, immediately fled to a house where a woman was in labor, and helped her to have the baby. Zeus as punishment for leaving the temple and committing a robbery then sent her to the kingdom of Hades to be purified for her actions, once there Hecate enjoyed great authority, as she was known as the queen of the underworld until the arrival of Persephone as a wife of Hades.

From the latter, the Greeks adopted the custom of placing "totems" of Hecate on roads, gates, and roads, because she did not allow ghosts to pass beyond the threshold, the Greeks prayed to this figure as " the queen of ghosts ”and“ goddess of darkness ”, a role she has maintained until our times.

Queen of the witches.

I suppose it is the role that has been won thanks to the efforts of his faithful devotees who have promoted his image throughout the world, Hecate is present on the altars of hundreds of witchcraft and magic practitioners in every corner of the planet, thus becoming one of the most unconditional deities of the pagan pantheon, and one of the most emblematic most divine figures in the society of witches and wizards.

Protection Spells.

How really work, and why don't
my protection Spells?
The million-dollar question that
many witches consult me.

"It seems that happened yesterday when Sam wrote to my phone that his most recent protection spell seems not to work, because just what he was trying to prevent happened, another robbery at his house for the second consecutive month... Oh wait, in fact it was yesterday. ”

Hello my beautiful Creatures, witches & lovers, I have recently been disconnected working (maybe in excess) on my next two books, but I am already coming out of that hole in the earth and sunbathing again, so this week I have been somewhat intense sharing many continuous posts in my Blog, and this is one of them.

Yesterday Sam called me again, to tell me that they have stolen his house (in California) for the second consecutive time in two months, Sam has been practicing this fantastic blend of conventional witchcraft with vudu for more than twenty years, and is also initiated in the Santería for 14 years, a totally eclectic witch (and today, who of us is not?). Sam reminds me a lot of my mother, lives and depends entirely on the practice of the old school, yes, sometimes they are so focused and immersed in their practice (maybe sometimes, too traditional), that unconsciously they refuse to learn or put in practice new conventional forms of magic that could integrate into your practice.

For example, it is not the same to conjure a voodoo doll (to heal someone or the contrary) by the traditional way, than to do it in a more modern way, with a previous visualization work, a ritual with candles to influence your immune system, or some reiki, simply modern methods are like medicine, no matter how good you are as a doctor, there will always be new discoveries that you need to apply in your practice if you want better results, and in the field of metaphysics, these discoveries and Inventions are the order of the day.

The Conversation.

So I talked to Sam to ask her some simple questions, and she clearly answered with what I thought would say.

Elo: How did you do the protection ritual?
Sam: Well, I was guided by several books that I have, I read different rituals and did them.

Elo: Did you clean the house first with sage and mint?
Sam: No!

Elo: Did you clean the floor with ice and some herbal purification oil?
Sam: No!

Elo: Did you do a previous meditation to focus before the ritual?
Sam: Well... Not, but I visualize a little.

Elo: Did you anoint protective oil on the candles?
Sam: I don't know why so many questions, but no, I didn't.

Elo: Did you sow rosemary or sage in a pot in your huge yard?
Sam: No, I didn't do that either.

Elo: Ok, did you do something? (I mean...) Exactly what did you do?

Sam: Well, there were many “protection rituals” options in the books, select several, opt for the simplest, I did it, and then I made a different one by creating an amulet that is placed behind the door, and nothing more, due they had already stolen last month.

Elo: I explain, maybe this is the problem from my point of view, I'm not 100% sure, but according to my experience, the same thing that always happens to my Mom may be happening to you, she has perfect health, doctors always tell her that she is fine, but she never complains about spinal pains, headaches, foot pains, etc, etc, etc... And she is a very experienced Witch/Santera, that I suppose thanks to her countless prayers and her faith, she has never gotten sick, because she always gets up in the morning saying “good morning to all my gods and my saints, thanks for giving me health one more day and all my family”, she It literally wraps itself in a mantle of healing divine light from the first hour of the morning, and does not let seemingly nothing sick to it, the problem is another.

This reminds me so much, my Mother.

My mother's problem is that she has been fighting with other witches all her life, for pride, or for any reason quite trivial (reasons that if I tell them, many would not believe how trivial they are), and she is used to her for a lifetime. , and he flatly refuses to change, to sit at his altar every night to smoke tobacco and burn incense while praying, and always open and close each sentence with “To those guiding and protective spirits that grant me health and protection every day and to all my children…” (enter a hundred prayers here that she knows herself) “and always protect me from all those enemies that are still standing and who are trying their best to destroy me with witchcraft and spells and all kinds of curses.” There is the problem.

Mother literally ends each sentence by affirming, confirming and calling those "enemies and dark spirits" who want to harm her, and no matter how many times my sisters and I tell her not to do it, she must work on her healing energy, visualize a field of protection around it, focus on healing and not on negative things (especially when you are sitting in front of an altar with about 90 religious images).

She simply refuses to change her chip, she refuses to reset her way of thinking and clings with her teeth and nails to what she learned from Grandma, the result of this is that her own paranoia is increasingly strong and she manifests all kinds of ailments where there are none, to the point that many doctors already refuse to treat her (which should be illegal for many reasons) because it does not matter what medical exams they perform, they They find it perfectly well from the feet to the head.

My mother is known for being invited to participate in several magazines, some newspapers, and a couple of radio programs, she is a well-known local healer with a very good reputation, she is excellent performing all kinds of cures, works of love and health, more than Once we have celebrated her good hand when performing fertility work on couples who have been trying to conceive for years, but yes, she never fails to visualize “ailments” caused by “those witches and necromancers” that she assures that they hurt her, and although all her fortune-telling children insist that she does not have them, she insists otherwise and condescendingly affirms "it is that you together do not have the same vision that I have", to which we simply stop arguing.

Now, after explaining this to Sam, I added, "Many times the books teach you what you need for the ritual, but the authors forget a couple of important steps about performing the ritual, one of them is visualization and cleaning." Always before performing a ritual (whatever it is) it is important but not mandatory to clean the space, because the space is charged with an energy of eons that depends on recent events, and every time you perform a ritual, you are overloading and redirecting a load of energy in the direction of the realization of something, and if your house was recently assaulted, and you have not cleaned, that energy is just what you are recharging.

On the other hand there is the visualization, if you focus on performing a ritual (be it a simple one or a more complicated one) to take care of your home and drive away the thieves, but you are only thinking of “recently I was robbed”, the energy that you are charging It is quite doubtful, it is like going to a restaurant while you are predisposed to think that the food of that place is horrible, although you have not tried it before, you probably already gave your brain the order to refuse the food, and this one did not You will like it, when we work with magic and energy, energy cleaning and visualization are the most important.

Then I invited her to visit me for a reading of letters and an energy bath, prepare a pair of amulets for her and her home, and I will teach her how to properly perform a protection ritual, always after a brief meditation accompanied by a job of visualization and deep and slow breaths.

For recipes and spells do not forget to join the mailing list, find my book of bags of amulets on Amazon, and load the space of your home with blessings every day.

Always with Love, light, and blessings to all.

Yuletime & Christmas 2019.

How, When and why do some pagans still celebrate Christmas?
My version, my story.

Decorate the house in Christmas season being pagan.

It is November, one of the mildest months of the solar cycle, I suppose that is because we unconsciously know that a month of celebrations is quite stressful, and during the last weeks of the month we already feel that December is among us (Or us in it? ).

A great series of festivities occur during the month of December along the globe, but the most recognized by all are usually Christmas, that adorable holiday of Catholics where they celebrate the birth of Jesus de Belen, Yule (the true pagan origin from the previous holiday), The Winter Solstice (the origin behind both festivities really), and other more social and less religious ones such as “New Year's Eve”, and for the less conservative, the holiday of the Christmas Spirit, which is not only one of my favorites, but also one of the pagan / Catholic festivities that has gained more strength in recent decades.

Also during this month several celebrations of the Jewish people, of the Muslim people, and of the Hindus become important, but the latter are more complex and I lack the knowledge and experience to be able to write freely about them. However, they are part of our “Month of Holidays”.

Once December arrives it is quite difficult for the pagan community not to take part in a side trying to stay in the middle of the debate, there is always the group that decides to attend all these celebrations with respect and love (you will find me here with the happy people) , and there is the group of "the others", "the others" is that group of people who do not identify with any religion or pagan current, but who always seem to be against each and every one of the ways in which others celebrate some holiday, whether arguing 'unbridled hatred' towards one of the previously mentioned religions, the typical excuse of 'it is only a celebration invented to take money out of your pockets', or the new and very fashionable' I do not celebrate that because it is cultural appropriation '(my followers know that this argument is apparently the favorite of the Haters).

Some pagans, and let's be honest about it, come from Catholic or Jewish families, and for them it is difficult, and that is not bad, to get rid of their family traditions like Hanukkah or Christmas, not because of a social imposition issue, but more Well because this celebration reminds them of the nostalgia of eating typical dishes and celebrating, dancing or sharing memories with their loved ones, and that friends, that is 100% Humanity.

Others celebrate Yule from a very young age, but not because we are “pure-hearted pagans” or because we are looking for a way to sell the mystical imagery of “pagan idealism” or anything similar, we all celebrate it for different reasons, some for social reasons, others For being Wiccans, some refuse to celebrate 'Catholic Christmas' and some as is my case, simply because it is something nice that they taught us at home, and yes, we also put a Tree.

Traditions & Folklore

My father has always been the expert in unraveling Christmas lights and preparing eggnog, my mother is the typical cook who gets up at 6 AM to make the stew of meat, chicken, salads, and all the typical dishes that have passed from generation to generation, such as 'las hallacas' (a tamale made from cornmeal seasoned with meat), and some typical Ramadan dishes he learned from grandfather.

At home we do not begin to place a 'Christmas manger' until a neighbor gave us his and since then we placed it, and always with mother and father telling the story of those Three Wise Men who came from Babylon to give gifts to the son of God of the Jewish people on the eve of his birth, also guided by a star (which I still insist is a comet!).

Since then the manger is placed at home, more on the occasion of honoring the pagan magicians and their journey through the desert, than by the Jewish theme, because even with the Turkish blood ‘No one at home is Jewish. The story of Yule learned it much more adult, while he was a child it was another story, father always said while they put together the tree that “this one” symbolized nature and its varied ornaments represented prosperity, the lights were a guide for the souls of our dead will find us in the night and not get lost on the way to visit their families, the star on the tree symbolized the light of the gods that illuminated everything, because he has always affirmed that only the ignorant choose to live in darkness .

And the whole season was more a family theme than a social or religious theme, even the altars of the Orixas were decorated in every corner (someone shouted here cultural appropriation or something like that?), And the most important thing was to be in Family and eat typical dishes.

Something catholic

I remember that it was at 9 years old, probably because I am not a person of many friends, otherwise I would have heard before, that someone came to tell me about Christmas, that they celebrated the birth of the son of God (wrong), who would have been born in December (wrong), that it was white as milk (as wrong as a Republican in election season), born from the womb of a virgin (what an interesting story), and that the wise men were only ornaments (a bit cruel, eh?), oh, and of course, in addition, the boy was called Jesus of Nazareth, an interesting factor to take into account, especially because he was not born in Nazareth but in Bethlehem, and at that time the name of the individuals confirmed his city from birth, wouldn't it be then... Jesus de Belen ?.

I got home, I asked Papa, and he really didn't give it much importance, Mama either, and in the end I have kept the tradition of placing my tree at home every December, full of ornaments, and attending all the dinners that They invite me.

Magic & Winter

For me throughout the year this is an important date, December is barely ending I am already sitting to plan next December, especially because at home we celebrate the arrival of the Christmas Spirit (about whom I have already written in this and other blogs before ), and no, it is not San Nicola Di Bari (Santa Claus), the Christmas Spirit is the popular and most commercial name we give in Latin America to the "Winter Spirit", that old man with long beards who sleeps eleven months at year and wake up during the winter to take the animals to their shelter, store seeds in their bag, which will be sown again in Spring, and will go through the houses granting wishes to the good Samaritans, and all this occurs from one week before the day December 21 (the winter solstice), until a week later.

The winter rituals are so varied that I have written many, especially dedicated to the Christmas Spirit, every year I usually send an email to all my subscribers with the rituals to perform at home, the date and time of some collective rituals, and even the Two more recent years I have made a couple of live videos (Facebook live and Periscope), to share the joy of the Winter spirit with my tribe.

I come from a tropical country in the middle of Ecuador, so I had never lived Winter until we arrived in the USA, so we don't celebrate winter or snow, that's why we know the spirit of the season as "Spirit of the Christmas "and not as" Winter Spirit ", although the late and very talented Venezuelan author Conny Mendez, fervently insisted on taking over the term and making the spirit look like a kind of" divine creation associated with Jesus ", the truth is that we know him as "Christmas Spirit", simply because of the absence of a better name.

For my Mom, this was literally "one of those old gods that nobody remembers and he wakes up on December 21 to take care of trees and animals, but nobody knows what it's really called."

For Pope and grandparents, it would be not one, but a group of spirits of dead pagans who took advantage of the night of "All-hallows eve" to come to this world and now have refused to return, so he called them ""Noel ruhları" (the spirits of Christmas).

More than a holiday

Celebrating the holidays is for many people like me, something that transcends religions, it is a date full of appreciation for life and loved ones, it is a period of reunion with the family (alive and dead) and it is time to order and clean the house looking, and always channeling, that the next winter cycle (within a year) be more prosperous and happy than the present.

That is the way I celebrate these holidays, and the truth is, I am dying to share more about this with you, so very attentive to my social networks, which as every year I will be giving away readings and some homemade amulets.

Kisses, lots of light, wisdom and blessings.

with Love & light.
