Greetings to all my witches and sorcerers who follow me, we are starting the Second Month of 2017 and is a month charged with very good vibes, and why shouldn't it? We are facing a month full of powerful moons, comets and a pair of eclipses that come to charge of energy the atmosphere and all of us.

First let's briefly review some history to enter properly into this magical process and be able to understand it. During the "Age of Myths" in Old Europe, more specifically in Ancient Rome, the "Februas", a series of purification festivals based on cleanliness to celebrate the arrival of spring and fluvial time, were organized and celebrated annually. The feasts were so called because of the ancient Etruscan where the word for "February" was used to refer to "water to clean".

The ancient Romans assigned a different deity to each month, and assigned to this month a properly Etruscan God who received the name of Februus, a male deity of the dead and purification. This divinity came to be worshiped decades later by the Etruscans who lived on the outskirts of Rome in the form of "Febris", the Goddess of fever and malaria , who not only produced it but also prevented and healed it, her worship was such that three great temples were built in her name.

These feasts (the Februas) became part of the "Lupercales," a series of continuous ceremonial feasts dedicated to the Faun God and the She-wolf who, in the old myth, nursed Romulus and Remus, the sons of the God of War and founders of Rome. These feasts were celebrated with a purpose of fecundity and purification of the city, where men and women found parners and procreated after a ritual officiated by a local priest who immolated a young goat in honor to the pagan Gods, in order to attract strong and healthy offspring. It is no coincidence that Valentine's Day is celebrated every February 14, because the Lupercales and Februas were celebrated on the 15th day of the same month, which later became known as "Februarius ", Thus giving passage after the month of" February ".

The comet in question, the 45P/Honda, which for lack of a less epic name we will call "Magic February" (or at least I will), is on the way, will pass the point closest to Earth on February 11, ehen it may be visible with special binoculars and even presumed we will be able to spot it with the naked eye, as long as we are far from excessive light pollution and properly positioned in the constellation of Hercules, the protective warrior of humanity. Our Magic February will appear far away during the most convenient night of the month, as it falls just one night after the full moon in Leo. There will be no better time this weekend (February 10 and 11) to carry out those spells, potions, rituals and amulets that increase our character, our physical energy and our power over others.

Lunar Eclipse in Leo

A little Ritual for February

During any first day of February perform a magic circle of sea salt or coarse salt and proceeded to light a stick of incense of sage, a blue candle (attract success) and a purple candle (transmutation) on your magic circle.

Next, burn in the candle fire twelve (12) dried bay leaves. Proceed to mix in a bowl or cauldron the remains thereof with a bunch of sage spray or dry iris, a piece of amethyst and a few drops of essential oil of hyssop, carnation or bay.

Mix with both hands for several minutes, recite the following incantation two (2) times and collected the amethyst from the mix, save it in a corner of the house and burn the rest of the mixture, using the ashes to clean the halls of the house.

“Oh, Great avatars and spirits of progress and destiny, grant me joy and countless reasons to be happy, make me see them as nymphs dancing in the forest and make a prosperous and peaceful life possible.”

At the end of the meditation proceed to make an infusion of green tea with two tablespoons of cinnamon and orange peel trimmings, let the tea cool in a cup and proceed to drink it in small sips reciting before each "with each sip I free myself, with every inhalation I clean myself and with every thought I rise beyond any earthly obstacle. "

This Thursday, January 12, we received in our heaven the first full Moon of 2017 a magic moon in Cancer ♋ that comes loaded with good vibes and lots of energy. The full moon is that magical moment of glory, fullness and spiritual extension that leads us to mature, advance and culminate our projects.

This is the first full moon of the year, symbolizes a new stage. January takes its original English name from Janus, the God of the two faces guardian of roads and trails, lord of doors, beginnings and endings, a face looking toward the past and one towards the future, which is why this moon indicates a clear turning point in our lives, announces a new cycle of twelve months to learn and apply learning in previous years, Janus was, along with Mercury, God the protector of travelers and with Apollo, God protector of the oracles. During this month the Sun God is aligned with the sign of Capricorn and the Moon Goddess is aligned with the sign of Cancer.

The Moon's gem of January is traditionally the Garnet and its flower is the Carnation, the recommended colors this month are usually white, black, coffee, blue and silver, the animal totem protecting us this month is the wolf and goat totem. The stones we can bless this month are translucent quartz, jasper, amber and onyx, the plants becoming more powerful these dates are calendula, geranium, chamomile, elder, saffron and marjoram.

You will bless your Altar with a piece of onyx or garnet with the next spell and dedicate ten minutes to meditate on the proposed projects for the new year.

Take the onyx or garnet crystal with both hands to the chest and say the following incantation:

“Oh, gods and spirits that guard this moon, bless this gem as a reflection of power, cleanse my soul, body and mind through it, bless my steps now and forever.”

Hello dear readers, we are about to enter the 2017 after two brief approaches in these months, the first was Samhain (All Hallows Eve) that many celebrate as the traditional "Pagan New Year" and is the first step to the new annual cycle, The second was the Winter Solstice with which much of the North celebrates the end of the old year, for it is tradition for us to represent the rebirth of the consort God (or the Solar God, depending on tradition) during the coming of winter .

Now that the doors are open to 2017, we have to take the first step, that will arrive on December 29 with the new moon in the Astrological Sign of Capricorn. The firmness, discretion and perseverance of this sign announce us and warn that it is time to step carefully and not to take mayor risks. Do not forget that the new moon is the time to recharge the batteries, put our documentation in order and watch with real attention what is happening around us.

The full moon of November is the penultimate moon of the year, the months of greater magical power have passed by and now we prepare to face the coldest months of the year. November is named from the Latin word "novem" which means nine because before the Gregorian calendar this was the ninth month of the year. It is the month in which little goats were sacrificed in the name of the Goddess Isis to insure crops and good fortune in the coming days. 

Traditionally the yellow topaz and citrine are considered as November gems, the flower of this month is the chrysanthemum, the colors associated with this month are pink, gray and teal. The animal totem guardian of this month it is the beaver, the scorpion, the hare and the antelope. The gems that you can bless this month are jade, coral, topaz, citrine and pink quartz The flowers and herbs with the most magical power this month are usually roses, peppermint, jasmine, carnations and lilies.

November full moon has powers to prevent evil and diseases, magic related to hunting animals and and magic to protect forests. This phase corresponds to the Mother Goddess, she blesses us with her power and promises of a new life, we perform all kinds of rituals in our group to strengthen our own magic or mental capacities.

That night we can perform invocation rites with an eye to summon Gods and Spirits, invoke the Moon Goddess and perform spells and manufacture talismans of great power, open portals to other worlds and produce all kinds of transformations in our life.

This Moon symbolizes the power at its peak, maturity and knowledge. It is the time to bless magic items and prepare concoctions that strengthen our powers, potions, love potions and visualizations. We must also take this Omens filled moon to perform divination rituals and study the stars.

Beaver Moon Healing Spell

At night of November full moon we will perform this simple healing ritual with powers of Mother Earth to heal our body's aches and pains. We will anoint a dark glass bottle (with lid) with natural oils of cinnamon, fill it with soil from seven different sites, a handful of peppermint, five small quartz crystals and a few drops of essential oil of myrrh or myrrh perfume, seal it tight and tie around a red string where we will tie seven knots, light a red candle with our name on it and pour candle wax on the bottle cap to completely seal it. Whenever you perceive any discomfort or pain light a red or green candle next to bottle to reactivate its healing qualities and keep it in a cool, safe place.

November little rite for Health & Love

It is time to renew the energies that we have exhausted during the year as well as health and feelings, for this ritual draw the corresponding magic circle, this time you can circle with a mixture of sea salt and rosemary. Burn a stick of lavender incense and an orange or dark green candle.

Place in a small cauldron or bowl a mixture with dried roots of Florence, lily, verbena and ginger, a few drops of essential oil of peppermint or lavender and, while reciting, proceed to light seven (7) white candles to symbolize the seven points energy connecting the astral body and the physical one. After reciting the incantation, burn the herb mixture like  incense.
