About your Magic.

They want to make you believe that you are less powerful, but it is because they are afraid of you, and although it is not reasonable, it is understandable.

Your skills for magic, spiritualism and sorcery are not linked to your homeland, the lineage of your parents, your sex of birth, your number of followers in social media or your collection of herbs, books or crystals.

While many of your powers and talents may be linked to various aspects of your life and practice, that does not define how good a sorcerer or spiritualist you are, the actual daily practice and the focus on it is what defines your true talent, not It is what you presume, but what you do and how you do it.

Promote that power originates in "your blood lineage", the link of your sex and sexuality with the moon or some other star in the sky, or your huge library, not only bordering on the absurd and classist (and often it is even racist), it is also just an expression of fear and lack of understanding of reason, in the spiritual world we all look exactly the same, regardless of your color, sex, race, religion or nationality, your powers are not very different from it.

You will discover the true origin and limit of your powers with daily practice, not with written theory.

Look how beautiful the incense burns, see how the future shows us in its smoke screens and clean the auras of its surroundings even in its last moments, watch as it burns smiling, cleaning calmly and silently to the last corner of each room.

Sun and new moon in Capricorn.

Sun and new moon in Capricorn.

Greetings and warm hugs to all my dear readers, in recent weeks my Blog has risen 62% in views compared to the previous month's reviews, I guess something I will be doing well (or so I think). In the next few days the most captivating sign of the zodiac and clearly the second most perfectionist (only surpassed by Virgo) comes to force you to set foot on the ground and make your eyes open to reality, but it does so for your own good.

I am talking about Capricorn, which in the next few days will be moving strategically through different routes to cover as many points as possible in the way of thinking and in your way of living, moving forward and taking advantage of every day.

Sun in Capricorn, December 22.

On December 22, 2019, the fantastic annual tour of the Astro Sun begins through the firm lands of Capricorn, this happens together with the Solstice, which marks the change of seasons and the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere.

The Winter Solstice symbolizes the return of the light and the rebirth of the Sun. It is a period linked to the celebration, the achievements, the family union, the memory of those who have left our lives and our world, as well as a Thank you period and renewal.

The transit of the Sun in Capricorn puts our feet on the earth, and although for many this is a period that can easily disappoint them for providing a feeling of disagreement and disagreement, it is due in large part to Capricorn, it is the sign of firmness and the strategy does not like to waste time getting excited about things that "look wonderful" with the naked eye or appearances, Capricorn is more focused on specific goals and solid projects, if something seems "very fancy", Capricorn Simply try to discard it to force you to focus on what you should do, and never on what you think you want to do, and this is done through a feeling of apathy and anxiety that is common during this December / January period.

Capricorn likes tangible, possible, concrete results, where the limits are properly established and the agenda is updated in every detail, and yes, although in life the best plan is simply “not to have a plan”, Capricorn is known as the intangible perfectionist of order and rectitude, is not focused on appearances or superficial results.

During this period it is common to have a feeling of wanting to discard projects with which we were previously very excited, but now we see them empty and simple, that is Capricorn leading you, trying as much as possible to get in the right direction and achieve the planning of the objectives.

It is no coincidence that during this December period people begin to constantly repeat (under the influential Capricorn) the diets they intend to perform in the new cycle, the new job they want to get, or the new projects they want to undertake, this is the best period of planning, then later, during the January / February cycle under the influence of a relaxed and illusionist Aquarius, we easily detach ourselves from the objectives and leave the projects in half, very typical of Aquarius, so we must take this cycle December / January to plan our annual agenda in detail and provide for these “rest periods” related to Aquarius and Pisces.

The energy of Capricorn is very strong and amplifies the lesson of responsibility and maturity when it comes to ties with others, with official bodies or when it comes to our active participation in the operation of institutions.

The annular eclipse of the Sun and New Moon in Capricorn, December 26.

December 26 is one of "those days" where everything seems to be upside down and it is easy to sit down to discuss issues that are not really that important or waste time on vague objectives, it is eclipse energy, and we well know that It is not an easy energy to handle.

The annular eclipse of the Sun of December 26, 2019, occurs in conjunction with the New Moon in Capricorn, this represents a transformation in the theme of international relations and politics, this eclipse opens the doors to a period of political changes in America North, Europe, Asia and Oceania, leadership changes, new political figures appear on the scene and the "format" of relations between countries gets new ways of presenting themselves.

The eclipses (in all its variants) represent two things that we always expect with some anxiety, on the one hand, the eclipses are the representation of an energy that blocks another energy, it is here that changes in political leadership are announced and changes in the laws occur that give more power to citizens and less power to politicians.

It is a moment of construction of new projects that are formed to change the world from within, it is a time of planning and elaboration of new cycles of changes for humanity, just as social networks have completely eclipsed the way of relating, sharing information and to publicize products and services, this eclipse reminds us a lot of that December period of 2009, where social networks took a level of power so great that they have been growing for a whole decade, this time something new is taking shape, perhaps it is the how we use these networks or the way we access them.

“The annular eclipse will begin at 3 hours 36 minutes northwest of Al-Hofuf (Saudi Arabia); will cross Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Oman; it will cross the Arabian Sea and will touch land again in southern India and northern Sri Lanka; it will enter later in Southeast Asia crossing the island of Sumatra (Indonesia), Singapore and the island of Borneo (Indonesia and Malaysia); Finally, it will enter the Pacific Ocean across the island of Guam (USA).

The annular eclipse will end at 6 hours 59 minutes at a latitude at a point in the Pacific Ocean west of Wake Island (USA). ”

New moon

The new moon is always a period of restart and planning of new projects if you have not read my previous post "A beautiful time between New Moons" I invite you to read it first because here we are only going to expand the idea a little more.

This new moon that happens on December 26, invites us to sow with love and much love a new project, a firm, and concrete project because this new moon in Capricorn opens for us six months until the full moon in Capricorn During this lunar cycle, the project we sow will gradually grow together with the moon, and the moon phases will be the constant reminder that will lead us to focus on not abandoning the project.

A beautiful time between New Moons

Recommended: Full Moon in Gemini December 11/12.

Your purpose of the incarnation and the moon

The new moon is the most recommended time of the month to focus on a new project or process, to start new studies and work, it is a time of awakening, learning, introspection, and meditation.

The previous new moon a few weeks ago.

Going forward a little, remember that on November 26 with the new moon in Sagittarius, we began to work on two different issues, our long-term personal growth intentions, and to tear down those limiting beliefs that we put on ourselves.

This new moon that had happened on November 26, happened in the astrological sign of Sagittarius, the archer, and that has opened for us a six-month growth cycle that will end with the full moon of June 2020, so which is worthy of your own, to remember that you still have little more than five months to work on it, to focus on what is really important for you, to divert that boat in the right direction and give your life the direction you are looking for.

The moon is linked to the subconscious, the individuality and your purpose of incarnation, so it is here that we must focus on working on ourselves, more on your inner self, much less on your outer self, becoming and making that person you want flourish become, and break down all the prejudices and mental barriers that you feel someone else has imposed on you, be it your parents, your close relatives, your friends or any other individual around you.

Take this energy to grow and expand your understanding of what you love to do and what you want to dedicate yourself to, focus on growing in the right direction, not just growing by growing up, unless you are focused on growing in the wrong directions.

The next new moon, in just a few weeks.

The next new moon happens in the sign of Capricorn on December 26, and we are only days away from it, so it is time to celebrate the achievements, but it is also time to plan the following objectives.

The moon in Capricorn is favorable to establish guidelines, rules, and structures. Deal with matters that require time and seriousness, concentration, formality, and good sense; Buy antiques or start building a house.

The transit of the moon by this sign provides the opportunity to try to recover lost time. Determination, ambition, control and prudence, loyalty and fidelity are topics to be treated with this new moon in Capricorn.

Take into account that each new moon opens a six-month cycle of growth, so this next new moon on December 26, 2019, opens a lunar cycle that concludes in the next six months with the full moon in Capricorn.

That day it will be very good to put your growth intentions in writing, in a visible place, and organize with date and detail the method and path you are using to achieve those goals and objectives that you are planning with the moon.

The full moon in Gemini, December 12.

Full moon December 12 // full moon in Gemini

We will understand how to work with the energy of this last full moon of the solar cycle of 2019, this magical moon that is happening this December 11/12 in the astrological and mutable sign of Gemini.

Sagittarius Month

The full moon occurs when our parents, the Sun and the Moon are in complete opposition, right now we have the Sun in Sagittarius, which has everything to do with ideas, abroad, studies about the world and reality, as well as the analysis of the world on a large scale.

On the other hand, we have the moon, the mother that nourishes us subconsciously with courage and calm to understand everything that is happening in our environment.

Full moon

This full moon brings clarity of understanding that makes you wake up, it is time to seek to connect with the world around you and with those phenomena that occur in your life, this moon closes the six-month cycle that began on June 3, 2019, with the new moon

The full moon symbolizes a moment of fullness, harmony, and celebration, the moon has passed one more cycle, its figure has aged to submerge itself in the cold and dark lands with the last new moon, it has entered the world of the dead, where the mother Moon also governs a small kingdom inhabited by ghosts and old gods, little by little it has begun to appear showing more and more light at night, and now it has finally completed that lunar cycle.

The full moon represents completeness and personal satisfaction, it is a sacred moment that invites us to celebrate every achievement we have achieved regardless of its size, each achievement is special, and it is time to celebrate them, together or in private.

The full moon is the satisfaction of having achieved a goal, but the full moon is guided by the mother goddess, the one who is eternally pregnant with light, with each full moon she gives birth to new spirits that will eventually become the new gods of tomorrow, those who will guide the new generations of humanity, and yet are again pregnant. This reminds us that we should proudly celebrate all our goals met, but it is also a moment of growth that invites us to plan what our next projects and goals are.

The moon in Gemini

The Full Moon in Gemini encourages us to think logically, while the Sun in Sagittarius encourages us to think in a much broader way. Gemini needs to be aware of everything in its environment, communicate and understand lightly and immediately, while Sagittarius brings the search for meaning and ideas that expand the horizon and stimulates us to venture.

The full moon in Gemini is a mutable moon of the air element, it is a moon that leads us to focus on communication and the search for new ways to express oneself intellectually, it focuses on logic and rationality, it leads us to think cold, to make interesting and convenient decisions in the long term, to evaluate our future and our steps.

It is good to remember that the moon in Gemini can generate attacks of nervousness and anxiety in people, it is good to keep you well hydrated and have a good book in your hands these days.

Retrograde Planets

Uranus is retrograde from the beginning of August 2019 to the 6th of Taurus until January 11, 2020. Uranus is the planet of the wind and the heavens, it is the ruling planet of Aquarius, the sign of the rain.

Uranus symbolizes the strength of the decision, the unpredictable and the unexpected, the breaking of existing balances and the elimination of everything we can consider useless. Uranus retrograde questions radical changes and awakenings, it is that feeling of wanting to understand something that we are really passionate about, but that for different reasons tells us to understand it.

Uranus retrograde puts us to think from outside the comfort zone, from a new perspective, from a different point of view.

Folk Magic, Tradition and Reality.

These difficult days, among incredulous magicians and inexperienced experts.

Change forms, Astral Projection, Out-of-body experience, The art of flying, and other forms of Magic that the "new currents" of Bruges fear to practice or share in public.

The world of sorcery is full of fables and myths about the powers of witches, about their special abilities to change shape or be in two places at once, about their power to remain hidden at night under a veil of shadows, or levitate on the roofs at night under the moon.

In the literary world all this happens to become things associated with “context”, tradition and folklore, even in some of my books I have felt obliged to censor (or rather, self-censor) when trying to write an anecdote about it, and then limit myself to writing "according to folklore, if you make use of this gem on the eve of the new moon, you can...", and I'm not the only one doing it, and this topic came up recently in a conversation that I kept private with one of my readers via telephone.

The truth is that even many times, my own partner has read my books, and although he likes my books and considers them to be quite complete, he also usually comments “you should try to write a little more about things that you do and others don't”, to the point that recently talking with Karen, who is my friend from Peru, and a complete expert in transformations, we were remembering that day when inside a Coven in Venezuela (she visited me and stayed to sleep at my house), and in Coven, after having participated in a ritual of (I really don't remember that ...!) We invited the boys to participate in our practice session of astral unfolding and projection, and most of them simply saw us with a very expensive face rare and refused to go for different reasons, although most of these reasons agree that "astral projection and those things are only an interpretation of the magic of witches", to which Karen and I simply stare at each other, thinking "what kind of magic do these people who don't even try something so basic practice?"

And unfortunately, the modern world is full of abstract answers like these, today, where for many "the gods are nothing more than simple archetypes," magic is only "a form of energy that you seemingly develop with meditation and yoga," shamanism. and everything associated with it is "cultural appropriation without spiritual bases," and conventional spiritism is cataloged by "experts" as "a colonial way of misrepresenting and teasing old indigenous cultures," and another lot of nonsense like that, it's easy. get lost between theory and practice just for fear of being stupid.

Me,  Myself & I.

I have been a victim (so to speak) of cyberbullying many times, every time I publish something about transformations, astral projection, and other forms of practical magic in my blog or in my networks, there is always an Inbelief Witch (Incredible but true that yes they exist!), who only comments with ridicule and scorn by calling me “dreamer” or science fiction fan, which is quite ironic, considering that I am apparently the only sorcerer who is not a fan of wasting valuable hours of the day eating Cheetos and watching Sabrina on Netflix or The Magicians, or one of these science fiction series quite irrelevant to me.

The fact is that there are two very strong generations out there that are growing in the shadow of a true generation of real sorcerers and magicians, on the one hand out there there is a whole generation of young people with a lot of talent and magic skills, looking for ways to expressing their enormous power and trying to find others with their same talents, and on the other hand, there is a whole generation of Unbeliever Warlocks, who lack real practical talent or willingness to do things, who make fun of these others for trying to get out from the box and think differently, and with “think differently” I mean think like the witches and wizards of before, think that magic is something so real that it makes those science fiction movies look like something absurd.

It is quite difficult to master various forms of magic, it is not easy to levitate pens in the air, it is not easy to create fire from nothing on a saucer with water in the middle of the night, and no, it is not easy to master astral projection and unfolding, as I have commented in several previous posts and in one (maybe two) youtube videos, this requires years of study and practice, not to mention a lot of money, money that you will spend between books and books, looking for which are written by true experts and are full of real recipes, and which are written by inexperienced who simply expanded a Wikipedia article and put a title and cover, but once you get it, this is worth it.

Quoting my grandfather, "not all witches know how to fly, but at least some try, hold on to them," he always took esoteric practices seriously and his library was packed with these books, although as he said, the Most of these books were written by inexperienced people who really do not know what they are talking about.

And I am not going to apologize if this sounds arrogant, because it is disappointing to read entire blogs full of complete misinformation about it, where these “Wizards Unbelievers” (as I like to call them), have never tried in their life to make a split or a session of astral projection, but they force you to sympathize with their incredible ideas and sell you something like “magic is very powerful, you are unlimitedly powerful, here you have the love spell this week,” then they end up placing imaginary walls in the mind of others, making the less knowledgeable think that magic is limited to ethereal things, tarot readings, blurred dreams with doubtful meanings and Saturday meetings to talk about books.

Mixing the Magic

At 14 (I think I was 14, but I'm not entirely sure, maybe it was at 13 or 15 because I was new to military school), I borrowed from the collection of my mom's books the "Ars Goetia" and “the Manual of the Sorcerer of San Cipriano”, books that today most of these fashionable sorcerers have not dared to read.

And I remember something, I literally put into practice each and every one of the spells in those books, every invocation, every ritual, there I was, at 14, with a pretty ridiculous outfit, with an old and dull blade in one hand and a glass with wine in the other, burning sulfur, incense and feathers of a black chicken to invoke a spirit from beyond, and I remember that the first few times nothing worked, at some point I almost gave up thinking that none of this would work, my grandfather has always stressed: "the shamans are shamans and the witches do the rest".

Baba (grandpa) has always been really very prejudiced about it, but my mother, which is the perfect proof that if you can be and learn many things to the Once, it has always been a source of motivation in this regard for me, and with your help and many (literally too many) advice about it, I managed to continue implementing these various rituals, I added them to my personal practice as sorcerer and shaman, and I continued studying these books, even on vacation in the Amazon (where this type of western magic is prohibited by all tribes), I continued studying these books and deciphering those hidden codes that have written between the lines.

It was not until the age of 16, once out of military school, that my invocations began to give real results, the truth is that it is much easier to deal with conventional souls and ghosts and learn to master a spiritual possession than to conjure these "Gentlemen," I suppose it was not until they got tired of hearing my calls and realized that they could take seriously that they began to appear, and even today, 13 years later, some of them (three to be very specific) are still not taken seriously enough to manifest, but not for that reason I will stop trying.

The fabulous flying witches

My grandmother, who is an experienced healer, has always told us about how wonderful it is to fly at night, and although even at some point I came to doubt about it (I admit it), someday close to the traditional festival of devils of Yare (a festival of religious character in Venezuela), she spent the whole day preparing, my mother seemed to joke about it, but at night they both went “to talk” with my aunts in the courtyard, me from my window I saw them and heard them talk for several hours before midnight.

I remember that group of women sitting outside talking about politics, travel, fabrics, and other things, I remember my aunt Rosalba preparing a rare infusion with the smell of roses and cloves on the stove, I remember my aunt Samantha opening the two parts Chest of a white dove that pulled out of the cage and deposit the heart of it in a small cauldron with herbs and some flowers.

I remember everyone smearing this mixture with oils and reciting a spell (which at that time, before mastering the language properly seemed strange to me), and I remember seeing them lie on the floor in an extensive circle around the patio stove with dozens of roses decorating the ground, they seemed to fall asleep and minutes later, a group of blackbirds, similar to large crows, perched on the trees in the courtyard, six to be exact, six crows, or so they seemed to be, and what a strange coincidence that In the courtyard were my grandmother and her five daughters.

I could have shouted from my window asking for help to think that these rare blackbirds would do them some harm, but contrary to that, I felt a kind of fullness and calm to see them, shortly after they flew several times over the motionless bodies in a circle and departed together. I was stunned by this understanding of what they mean by "going out to fly," and it was not long before I woke up one of my many sisters to tell him what happened, she took it with total serenity and just made me promise that I didn't I would say nothing to anyone, at least until my Mom taught me in the future how to do it, which only generated a doubt in me that until today I have not resolved, because my sisters do not do it too ?.

I did not fall asleep that night, I stayed awake with a lot of encouragement, and shortly before dawn, around 4 am, a group of birds came back making a lot of noise, they settled on the bodies (not on the trees this time), they walked between them for a while and they left, I could swear (although I am not entirely sure of it) that these birds soon disappeared into the air, seemed to have vanished in the wind, and shortly after my uncles began to wake up, my mother among them, and my grandmother was the last to do so, after that they went to the kitchen to prepare coffee as if nothing had happened, as if they were not tired, and then, they would have no reason to be, if their bodies certainly rested all night.

It was only four years before I was the one who woke up in the middle of the night, because my cousins Alexander, Alejandra, and Daniela, though they saw their aunts sleeping in the patio while they drank something weird, so I just took them to the window and made them also promising not to talk about it, I showed them everything that happened, the birds soon arrived, and since then they also know what they are about.

Day by day

This kind of thing happens every day in our world, the world is full of secrets that only magic knows and that only through the study of sorcery could you explain, certain things are beyond our control (visa control and credit cards, for example), but magic is certainly capable of many more things than simply creating "love spells" and "divination sessions."

If for some reason, you as a practitioner are not willing to try something different for fear of what might happen, that's fine, it is no secret that many people have suffered a cardiac arrest while flying at night or while leaving their bodies to half day. But not for that reason you should limit yourself to thinking that magic is only decks of Tarot and celebrations of the equinox.

Taking up that conversation

That conversation from which this post came about via telephone, a follower of my Blog and Social media, he claims to have seen my video talking about astral projection several times, I imagined it was due to my accent and maybe he did not understand me, then He explains to me that for years he is living the same experiences unconsciously and involuntarily over and over again, I am quite accustomed to the fact that many times they are making fun of others, so at first I respond very kindly but without many details, each of his messages and the very insistent send me more and more messages explaining things that I usually know but that I have never read in a book about it, and that is where I take it seriously.

From that moment on we started contact via @mail, constantly sharing information about it, sharing experiences and anecdotes, and just as it happened with him, I have also been talking with a couple of people.

I do not read minds or move things in the distance, I have not even tried the truth, but I will not deny that others can do it, here (in this blog) I have constantly written about my experiences walking through dreams and knowing places that I do not find in the physical plane, and I am not the only one, we are rather many, and out there there is a huge tendency to believe misinformation regarding these issues.

Unfortunately, there are so many sorcerers and magicians, incredulous of their own power, out there, forcing others not to try different things for the simple fact that they cannot explain it.

In shamanic practices, we have a very simple and easy to understand scale, to be a shaman you must first be a sorcerer capable of creating real changes in the world, a student of the hidden arts and a connoisseur of language, ritual symbolism, and magic, but besides being a sorcerer, to be a shaman you must be a medium, you must be able to pass spirits between planes, between your body and other bodies, and that entails years of practice and constant work, to be a medium (and here Shamans differ with many "practitioners" of witchcraft and Western magic), you must be a spiritualist because through spiritualism you will know the world of spirits and you will enter into their practice, and to be a spiritualist and become a medium, you must first be a seer, because, to enter the spiritual world, and be able to conjure or possess spirits, it is necessary to be able to see and hear them properly, not just knowing that they are there.

In the same way, sorcery works in all its branches, constant study and practice until exhaustion only give good results after some time, although I have met a couple of quite talented individuals capable of achieving it quite quickly (unfortunately I am not one of them), in magic and sorcery, constant practice is the secret.

On astral projection and lucid dreams

This is my favorite subject, and it is the most difficult to talk about, because all the experiences are different, and it is not accessible to everyone, Hey! I have said accessible, I never said exclusive, so do not misunderstand me, what I try to explain here (and clearly I collapse in the process) is that it is quite difficult to explain to people, about something they cannot see or hear, and It takes them so many years of practice that it is simply easier to surrender in the process, especially when it comes to something that I did not learn from someone else, but happens constantly and involuntarily, and it has taken me years of treatments to prevent a possible cerebral palsy or cardiac arrest, it is much more difficult even perhaps to explain it to a doctor.

But contrary to popular thinking, these are not exclusive “gifts” that certain people have, it is like singing, only 2% of the world population lacks the ability to sing due to something called “deaf ear”, but while some individuals are born Practically singing, others learn in the process, some have great voices, others have a much more discreet vocal talent.

Well, it works with different types of magic and sorcery, everything is learned and magic is at your fingertips.

Moving in the world of dreams is not an easy task, but because it occurs during the unconscious, it is one of the most difficult ways to handle, while astral projection (voluntary and conscious practice) is easier to carry carried out over time and constant practice, although obviously, some take longer than others.

But as I have commented in some videos and posts before, there are many books out there that try to sell you an erroneous idea, like wanting to make you believe that this is something extremely accessible and easy to understand, almost without any effort, when the truth is It can take years of practice.

Trying the astral projection is for many as frustrating, as starting a diet and maintaining it for eight or nine years, even seeing that it has not given you results.

But far from seeking to discourage anyone, I simply try to make one point clear, and that is that constant practice is the result, and not giving up in the process, but 15 minutes of deep and slow breathing every morning, is a good way to advance the process.

Magic & Sorcery is not 'Cool'.

Magic is not something ‘cool’ and its practice should not be taken as such.

You can insist as much as you want to make the magic and sorcery look like something 'cool’ and accessible to everyone, but it is neither cool nor is it 'accessible’, if you really practice it, you know that at the end of the day you are playing with forces superior to you capable of making incredible changes (for better and for worse) in the lives of other people, groups and nations.

Being a magician, a spiritualist or a sorcerer requires decades of constant and practical study, performing rituals and much personal development, much psychoanalysis, and more and more practice.

It is not something that is learned and controlled overnight, it is something that requires masters of study, perseverance, and training, and much humility to realize that as you progress there are more and more spirits, gods and paths each time bigger and more complicated

Not everything is 'love spells’, pretty amulets and festivals where you go to buy things that make you look 'more witchy’, it’s not about that, it’s about much more than that, and you’re playing with forces that many don’t understand, forces that you clearly don’t understand either.

I said "accessible", I never said "exclusive", magic is not inaccessible to anyone, it is quite the opposite, as I have shared in my books before, magic inhabits everything like a beautiful halo that connects its molecules from the inside of things to the outside of them, and thus inhabits everything and everyone as a gigantic network of invisible energy.

But to believe that by reading a couple of posts on Wikipedia and making a couple of beautiful photos on Instagram make you powerful, that is childish, and it is quite immature, it is selling science fiction in times where it is necessary to break stereotypes and motivate People to look for real practice and not just "easy practice."

Thoughts

I have learned from the living and also from the dead, and that does not make me an expert 🧐
They say that my books "focus too much" on beginners 🤷🏻‍♂️ and that my explanations are unnecessarily long and complex for an 'expert’.

I do not write for “pseudo-experts” in Magic, I do not believe in the experts, my mother who has practiced witchcraft and santeria throughout life is not an expert, my grandmother who is a healer is not an expert, my sisters who They are dedicated to the same branch as all of us at home, they are not experts, and clearly I am not, I am an apprentice in process seeking to learn more from others.

I have learned magic from the living and I have learned magic from those who are not alive, and every day I continue to learn more and more.

That is why I work in teaching what I can to initiates, not experts if they are “experts” they have absolutely nothing to look for in my books! They are supposed to know everything, don’t they? 🤭😏

Our Annual Christmas Spirit Ritual.

Christmas Spirit Ritual

Hello dear reader, if you have followed the recent line of publications of my blog, you will know that by general request I have been focused on sharing magical information, rituals and some anecdotes related to the magic and sorcery of Christmas and the symbolism of it.

If you have not been aware of it, I invite you to read at least the six previous posts to this one, in which I am also recommending some products from different local and botanical stores that could serve you this season, they are also excellent to give to a friend or Some loved one.

Our Tradition, yours and mine.

Every year since I have this blog I usually write here about the “Ritual of the Christmas Spirit”, a simple and traditional ritual that we celebrate in South America, but I have also seen it be performed here in North America, with very few differences, so next, I will shed some light on the matter and share with you the ritual of this year, which we change every year (and usually send it by mail) according to the lunar phases and the available planetary energy.

The Spirit of Christmas & the Local Gods of Winter and Agriculture.

Although it is very similar to the traditional 'Father Christmas' originating in Victorian England (a festive, cheerful and elderly spirit that embodies the holiday festivities), it is rather a set of winter spirits that abandon their extensive annual dream with the arrival of the winter, once the Solstice occurs and the light of the next day (the first day after the winter solstice), these awake spirits and make a quick tour of the lands they inhabit, most of these spirits are, according to folklore local, old minor gods whose names were before the history of man, so we do not know their names and stories, and as has always been the focus of this blog, we emphasize working with these "local spirits and gods" with different purposes

These local spirits are and native gods are largely gods of the season, winter deities and agriculture that have been forgotten over time, but their energy is present with the door that opens the winter solstice, and With this, these spirits seek a little adoration in exchange for granting wishes, and for this, we perform the ritual of the "Christmas spirit" which is the "Christianized" (in a way) way of venerating these old spirits without calling The attention of other individuals.

Similar Examples

A similar case occurs in my native country, Venezuela, where before the colonization the local goddess of rain and agriculture 'Satmanba' was revered by the indigenous tribes who were in charge of drawing the figure of the same goddess, on rocks and caves nearby of the rivers and mountains, surrounded by animals and flowers to indicate the path that "should" follow the rain to the tribe, once she will send it to water the fields.

As with Satmanba, it also happened with Atteoni, the leopard god, Wannatu, the snake god who cures of poisons, and Edissibe, the god of sun and light, who after the Spanish colonization were banned at the level of worship, and subsequently forgotten, and some of them, got the way to manifest themselves in the new world in the form of healing Saints and Virgins with new names to remain so relevant, while others with less luck simply became forgotten for eternity.

In my recent Live Q&A with the wonderful Madame Pamita,
some of the show attendants commented about my Holiday tree
behind me and we talked a little about it.

The Winter Solstice

This year, the winter solstice takes place on Saturday, December 21, as usual. Normally the Solstice occurs on December 21, or some very few times, on December 22, usually when the Winter Solstice occurs on December 22, this is a prognosis of a global change to occur, such as a armed war between sister nations, separation of states that give rise to new countries, events or discoveries that completely change the course of humanity, or the arrival (also departure) of politicians and leaders who seek to generate change globally.

Preparation

First of all the most important thing, you should clean the house, apartment, office or room where you have decided to carry out the ritual, and once you have finished, I recommend lighting a white candle to start energizing the atmosphere and burn some pine, sage or tangerine incense sticks.

If you are like me, a fan of natural oils, perfumes, and essences, you can easily mix in a glass jar with atomizer or sprayer, equal parts of essential oil of pine, lavender, and myrrh, or a blend of apple oils and cinnamon, and proceed to spray this energetic cleaning formula (which is also very good for attracting money) in every corner of the home.

The essential colors are red, green, purple, blue and white, obviously, you can complement them with gold and silver, or make the combination you prefer, in my personal case, I choose every year for the green tones (mother earth ), red (energy activator) and gold (abundance and masculine energy of Father Sun), you can use, for example, violet or purple (to transmute negative situations and relationships into positive) and white (purity and peace) or silver (riches and feminine energy of the lunar goddess).

Hanging plants at the entrance is essential, from there in large part comes the traditional Christmas wreath that is placed on the doors, with the symbolism of welcoming Christmas and the times of peace, wealth and well-being.

The crown is something symbolic, so if for some reason you cannot get or make for yourself, a real crown of herbs and flowers, you can get one of the other materials. If you have the possibility of getting a real Christmas wreath, the crowns that combine mistletoe, cedar and pine are the best, have an incredible aroma, withstand the cold winter without problems, and attract very good energy to the house.

Music is important, at home we use a “Google Home” digital player that is practically on all day (probably recording all my personal conversations and my bad jokes), you can use your smartphone, music CDs, radio, Spotify Whatever you want, the idea is to create an atmosphere with winter (or Christmas) songs that help you focus your thoughts on what you are invoking.

In my case, for a theme of tastes, I choose to play the Christmas records of Kenny G (a traditional jazz musician), as well as the Christmas records of Sia Furler, Idina Menzel (non-Christian seasonal music), and Voice Veis (a choral group).

A Ritual based on Love and Unity rather than Traditional Sorcery.

Part I

Then, once everything is done and properly organized, I offer two options, the first is to decorate your altar with mistletoe and pine, light green and red candles and burn incense of herbs to welcome the coming spirits.

The second option, which is my favorite, is to have a dinner together with family, friends and loved ones, a small family feast for the purpose of winter, to mark this first day of the new cycle with an act of unity and love between you and your loved ones.

I usually do both, but I suggest you try the one you prefer.

Part II

You will need:
  • White paper
  • Ink to write
  • Red, green and gold ribbon
  • A white or green candle
  • A small cauldron or a white saucer
  • A glass of water
  • A plate with fruits

The magic moment is entered into the darkness of the night, between six in the afternoon and before dawn, it is here when you proceed to light the candle, you write at this time (not before) your three wishes on a piece of paper, if You want to make it more symbolic, you can use red or green ink. Write these three wishes on paper, fold the paper several times, close your eyes and breathe deeply three times.

Visualize these wishes already fulfilled and take a piece of the ribbon, first wrap the desire (the paper already folded) with the green ribbon to symbolize the spirits and gods of nature that will attend to the wish for fulfillment, now tie it with red ribbon, to activate its energy and charge it positively, and proceed to wrap it with a piece of gold or yellow ribbon, to symbolize its closure successfully.

Then take this paper amulet at one end, thank aloud for the fulfillment of it to your god or personal divinity, and proceed to burn it in the candle flame, burn one of its ends and carefully place it inside the cauldron or saucer until completely consumed.

Tip: it is common that due to the movement of oxygen (or lack thereof) the talisman stops burning at some point, do not be afraid to use another white candle to burn it by its edges until it is completely consumed.

Once the candle has been consumed, throw all the remains and ashes of the ritual out of the house, and place the glass with water and the plate with various fruits near the door, to welcome all the spirits that will read your desire in the energy of the place and will be in charge of granting the "push" necessary for its fulfillment.

Who is who? Santa Claus, San Nicolás de Mira, Santa Claus and the Spirit of Christmas.

Santa Claus, San Nicolás de Mira, Santa Claus and the Spirit of Christmas.

To all the readers, welcome back to my virtual portal, I have been busy between books, classes, and workshops, being as a teacher as a student, now I am taking time out of social networks to focus on finishing various projects, and you will only find me around here, and occasionally on Tumblr and Twitter promoting the topics published in this blog.

This day we are going to shed some light on the life of this mythical character with thousands of names that is Saint Nicholas, and his difference with, the Christmas Spirit, of whom I personally am very devout, and to clarify that they are not the same individual.

Beyond the version recreated by Coca Cola, of the robust and bearded man with a cartoon red and white winter suit, we find the essence of two entirely different characters that I would like to summarize below.

Old Wotan and the first ‘Christmas’.

Centuries before Christianization, the Germanic peoples celebrated a feast in the middle of winter called Yule ’, from which essentially all the traditions that would eventually lead to Christmas originate. During these festivities, the god Woden or Wotan (another form of the god Odin) was present with his long white beard, well accompanied by his hunting troops (Wild Hunt) formed mostly by spirits of old horse hunters.

From here the first images of the old ‘Santa Claus’ leave, like a robust old man with blue eyes and long white beard covered with a thick tunic of skin dyed blue, or sometimes purple or green. Being thus represented in a more elegant and less caricatural way, and with a more "Nordic" aspect.

From a horse to the eight reindeer

Wotan was an old god, a warrior, a wizard, and a poet, it was expected that his court was a mystical and unique creature worthy of him, so he rode ‘Sleipnir’ a fierce eight-legged horse. After the Christianization of the Germanic peoples, trying to keep Wotan's story alive among the children, this steed would be turned into a white horse called ‘Amerigo’, and now Wotan would have an assistant and page known as ‘Zwarte Piet’.

Zwarte Piet, better known as “Black Peter” or “Pedro el negro” for Spanish-speaking countries, was a demon with coal instead of skin and fire instead of blood, inhabited the forests of Germany and Belgium, devoured the children and terrorized the people, said demon was defeated in combat by Wotan and turned into his servant, Wotan covered him with human skin and from then on he is represented as a vivacious and smiling character of color.

Subsequently, and inspired by the original concept of the eight-legged horse that leads the god during the winter, and in a Christmas postcard published in 1821 where the character is seen in a carriage that is pulled by a reindeer, the legend transforms and converts to the bearded god in a robust and smiling old man aboard a sleigh that is pulled by eight reindeer, to represent the eight legs of the original steed.

For even more commercial purposes, to the eight reindeers that pull the sleigh of "Santa", they are added a ninth reindeer (Rudolph of the red nose) from the 1823 poem "A Visit From St Nicholas", and his assistant Peter It disappears almost completely, except in certain European countries such as Spain, Holland, Poland, and Germany, where little by little its figure is emerging again.

Saint Nicholas de Bari

With the arrival of Christianity throughout Europe, the figure of Woden tried to prevail, and its cult being so difficult to disappear, the Church decided to synchronize it with the figure of the Christian bishop of Greek origin named Nicholas of Bari, who lived in the fourth century in Anatolia, (current Turkey). Nicholas was one of the most venerated people by Christians of the Middle Ages, largely because of his reputation as a miracle worker as for his eagerness to eradicate pagan cults, his relics are in the Basilica of St. Nicholas of Bari, Italy.

Nicolás de Bari was born between the years 270 and 280 in Myra, a city of the District of Lycia, in present-day Turkey, came from a rich family with shops along the Adriatic Sea, once both parents died due to the plague, Nicolás, moved by the situation, distributed all the assets of his family among the neediest and went to live with his uncle (the bishop of Mira), at age 19 Nicolás is ordained a priest, and when his uncle dies, he Nicolás offers to take office as bishop of Mira.

Special mention has its relationship with the children, whom he treated with great respect and appreciation, on one occasion he managed through prayers, to heal two children who had previously been stabbed by a stranger outside the church, from there Many stories began telling their miracles and goodnesses.

He had a good reputation as a gift delivery man, I keep a small part of the family treasures much of his life, mostly gold coins that he left inside the houses of the poor in which he sneaked into the night.

After his death, he was made Patron Saint of Greece, Turkey, Russia and Lorraine (France). In the East, it is known as San Nicolás de Mira or Myra, but in the West as San Nicolás de Bari.

Father Christmas

This is a character of English origin, and it is a divine personification of Christmas that emerged at the end of the Victorian period.

From the fifteenth century, "Father Christmas" appears as an English legend, but it is not until the mid-seventeenth century (following the English Civil War) that his figure goes from oral folklore to be illustrated and described in various commercial publications.

“The English government controlled by the Puritans had legislated to abolish Christmas, considering it a papist, and had banned their traditional customs. The realistic political pamphlets, which link the old traditions with their cause, adopted the Old Santa Claus as a symbol of "the good old days" of festivities and joy. After the Restoration in 1660, Santa's profile declined. His character was maintained at the end of the 18th century and in the 19th century by Christmas folkloric works.”

Hutton, Ronald (1994). The Rise and Fall of Merry England.

Until Victorian times, Father Christmas was only worried about celebrations and adult parties. He had no particular connection with the children, nor with the delivery of gifts, night visits, socks or fireplaces. As later Victorian Christmas became family festivals focused on children, Father Christmas became a bearer of gifts.

The popular American myth of Santa Claus arrived in England in the 1850s and Father Christmas began to assume the attributes of Santa Claus. In the 1880s, new customs had been established, and the night visitor was sometimes known as Santa Claus and other times as Santa Claus. He was often illustrated with a long red hooded dress adorned with white skins.

Any residual distinction between Father Christmas and Father Christmas faded greatly in the early years of the twentieth century, and modern dictionaries consider the terms Father Christmas and Father Christmas to be synonyms.

Santa Claus or Santa Claus.

Around the year 1624, when Dutch immigrants founded the city of New Amsterdam (now New York) they carried with them their customs and myths, including that of Sinterklaas, a character inspired by the figures of St. Nicholas of Bari and Father Christmas, and in addition to this a patron saint (whose holiday is celebrated in Holland between December 5 and 6).

In 1809, the writer Washington Irving made public the satire, "History of New York," in which he deformed the Dutch saint, Sinterklaas, in the crude English-speaking pronunciation of Santa Claus.

In 1823 the poet Clement Clarke Moore published a poem that gave rise to the current myth of Santa Claus, based on the previous character of Irving Washington, in that poem mention is made of a version of Santa Claus, although fat, agile as an elf; who gives toys to children on Christmas Eve and is transported in a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer (Rudolph -Rodolfo- not yet included).

In 1863, the German cartoonist Thomas Nast developed a series of Christmas strips at Harper's Weekly, where he granted St. Nicholas the figure of a fat, bearded and cheerful man with a peculiar dress inspired by the bishops of the middle ages.

In the mid-nineteenth century, the American Santa Claus arrived in England and from there to France, where he merged with Bonhomme Noël, another very similar character who used to wear white and gold.

At the end of the 19th century, the American brand “Lomen Company” creates the legend that San Nicolás lives in the North Pole, thus justifying the existence of the eight flying reindeer and the winter attire.

At the beginning of the 20th century, in 1902, in the children's book The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, by L. Frank Baum, the story of how Claus earned immortality, as well as his title of saint, originates.

In the twentieth century, the painter Habdon Sundblom certainly remodeled the figure of Santa Claus/Santa Claus for the Coca-Cola company, making a version of it more human, more smiling and more credible commissioned to reshape the figure of Santa Claus / Santa Claus to make it more human and credible, keeping the already popular red and white colors, and the magical sleigh with nine reindeer.

Finally, the myths and legends of the pagan god Woden (being replaced by the Christian Saint Nicholas of Bari) and Father Christmas (Father Christmas) eventually mixed as one, his image became a symbol of the season, and mass advertising around he converted him, from a powerful god of winter and war on a fierce steed, a catholic saint who works miracles, and a nocturnal and festive spirit, into a sweet, robust and bearded old man, dressed in red that distributes gifts throughout the world in one night aboard a sleigh with nine magical reindeer.

Plants and Floral Essences for this Season.

A shortlist of Plants and Floral Essences for this Christmas season

In the northern winter is beginning to feel, while in the South the seasons are not stopping up, but if we have something in common it is the Christmas season, if you have read the three previous posts that I have published in this season, you know that The focus here is not to promote the eternal debate Pagans vs. Christians, about who has the right or not to celebrate these holidays.

Our approach is to take advantage of this season of family union and celebrations for the realization of spells, charms, and rituals that give strength to our desires to turn them into reality in the course of the solar cycle that is about to begin.

In this quite short post, I will make a special mention of different plants and floral essences that are indispensable for you this season.

The plants

Hedera Helix (the ivy)

Ivy is associated with the gods Osiris and Atis, (both resurrected after death), so it is used to symbolize eternity and resurrection, it is usually used to make crowns in centerpieces or hanging decorations.

(This plant can have high toxicity, so it must be used very carefully.)

Serissa Jap. (the serisa)

La Serisa or "The winter rose", is a small subtropical shrub of small white star-shaped flowers, blooms during the winter in Central Europe and at other times in different parts of Asia, its white flowers symbolize purity and calm.

Schlumbergera (the Christmas cactus)

The Thanksgiving cactus, crab cactus or holiday cactus, the flowers of this cactus are well known in Brazil for their healing powers and a peculiar aroma, it is a plant that can be considered uncommon, but in many countries, it is gaining a relevant position as a plant of Christmas.

Euphorbia pulcherrima (the typical Poinsettia)

The poinsettia is undoubtedly the privileged one and at this time of year, there is no corner, or place where we do not see one. The red of its leaves means luck and fortune for its owners. Placing it next to the entrance door brings very good energy.

Ilex aquifolium (the holly)

The holly symbolizes good fortune and love, its cut branches are used to decorate and create crowns for the doors of the house. It was considered a sacred tree by the ancient Druids, while the pagans of ancient Rome associated it with the god Saturn, whose feast was celebrated from December 25.

Floral essences and Oils

For lovers of oils and aromatic essences, this season I usually recommend floral essences much more than herbal essences, because they feed the spirit of the home with their mostly spring energies and provide an aroma reminiscent of the mother's greenery Spirit.

Special blend

To protect the good energy of the home I advise you to make use of a small bottle of dark glass with sprayer and place in it a light blend with equal parts of oils of sweet tangerine or orange, lemon, cedar, and cinnamon. Mix it well and use it to spray every corner.

Other essences:

Chamomile essential oil to attract peace, calm and balance.
Cinnamon essential oil for protection and good relationships.
Lavender essential oil for harmony and raise your good vibes.
Sandalwood essential oil for spirituality and abundance.
Cedar essential oil to strengthen family relationships during this cycle.
Cypress essential oil for love and good fortune this season.

Tip: If you have already read the previous post on 'how to decorate the table for Christmas Eve dinner' I recommend using these oils with a sprayer or a special oil burner to aromatize the space before it heals and create an energy-laden atmosphere peace and joy.
